Trust Jesus

Trust Jesus – Toni M. Babcock

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 KJV

The devil loves locking souls in an iron fist of fear and doubt.
Let me explain. For those weak in faith, the glorious, good news of the gospel may seem almost too good to be true, especially in the beginning when the soul first seeks to exercise faith in Jesus Christ.
For example, anxious seekers often come to Christ over and over, asking to be saved just to ‘make sure’ they really meant it; doubting themselves more than they doubt the Lord while fixing their eyes too much on themselves and too little on Jesus.
They have no problem believing Jesus saves sinners, unless of course that sinner happens to be them — and herein the squeeze gets tighter. Satan loves the opportunity to exercise his power over anybody who fails to believe the gospel.
But believe this, the enlightening influence of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God can break the stranglehold of Satan once and for all.

The Spirit of grace will only appear veiled to us if we are double minded about what we truly believe Christ accomplished on our behalf.
As long as we’re tempted to question the truth, or believe there might be something else we must achieve in order for Christ to truly accept us, we will fail to exercise saving faith.
Some might ask, “But don’t I need to repent?
I’m just trying to be sure.”
Yes, but real repentance involves accepting the truth we have nothing to offer Jesus except our empty hearts to fill, and allowing Him to give all, and do all, and be all on our behalf— because that’s who Jesus is, and He’s asking us to trust Him.
Have you trusted Him?
The Father accepted Christ’s sacrifice as a full payment for our sins – this is what we need to accept, too — nothing added outside of Him.
A transformed life following Jesus in obedience will follow.
