THE JOY OF REDEMPTION

I was surprised to hear that this 24-year-old had driven more than seven hours just to volunteer as an extra in the movie. But the more we talked, the more I realized his story was a lot like mine. Despite growing up with a dysfunctional family experience, lacking purpose and direction, and turning to substances to numb the pain, Tucker’s story is a testimony to the power of God, His infinite mercy, and the joy of redemption. For the majority of his life, Tucker was disinterested in—if not angry at—God. But everything changed when, through God’s grace, Tucker discovered the Greg Laurie Podcast and then our cinematic crusade A Rush of Hope. Although he listened with a skeptical ear, it wasn’t long before the walls around his heart began to crumble. As he listened to yet another podcast episode one night, Tucker heard and answered the gospel message we always present and found himself on his knees, praying to a God he felt he had just discovered. He gave his life to the only One that would never reject or disappoint him: Jesus. Within a few short weeks, Tucker was deeply immersed in the Bible and the resources available from Harvest—online articles, podcasts, radio programs, and all the materials provided to new believers that our compassionate donors make possible through your support, Tom.
