SEARCH ME O' GOD

This is something I need everyday as we all do. I wanted to share this devotional with all of you.

TODAY’S VERSE
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24 (NIV)
TODAY’S MESSAGE
Who are we?
Who are we that the God of the universe would be interested in a relationship with us?
Yet, this is exactly what these verses imply.
It is an open invitation to you and I, to sit before God and pour out our heart.
It is a tremendous opportunity to allow Him to know our most inner thoughts, emotions and imaginations.
We can come to Him without reservation and trust that He cares; that He is interested; that He is able to show us any needed correction and that He will lead us in the way we should go.
Do you have that kind of relationship with God?
If not, you can start today.
The Apostle John writes in Revelation that God stands at the door of your heart and knocks waiting for you to open it so He can come in and fellowship with you.
Today, invite Him in and start to let God know who you are.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, it is so hard to say, “Search my heart.”
I don’t want to slow down.
I don’t want to be vulnerable.
But, if I cannot trust You with my heart, who can I trust?
Forgive me for running from You. Help me be still.
Help me trust You as I say, “Holy Spirit, I come now and open the door of my heart to You.
Come in, search me, know my thoughts and lead me in the way You want me to go.” In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I let God search my heart and help me
Feel the trepidation of coming before God and allowing Him to examine your heart.
You know He will see everything and you are apprehensive, but then you sense His love for you.
You can feel a trust come over you.
You know that He already knows all about you, yet here He is.
He has not left you or forsaken you.
So you let Him examine you and He whispers counsel into your heart.
He has seen your heart and has lovingly helped you.
Let praise rise up in your soul and worship Him now.
