The Work of the Holy Spirit

The Work of the Holy Spirit

Recently Rob shared about the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He reminded us that "the key to life with God is the Holy Spirit." The work of the Holy Spirit is to:

Connect us to God's presence forever. The Holy Spirit is with us forever, to advocate for us. God has no desire that we navigate life on our own. He desires to be with us and help us go through life with Him. Sometimes we don't feel it, but the truth is He is with us, whether we feel it to not because He promised it.

Teach us how to know God. He teaches us who God is and who we really are. He teaches us in many ways, but mainly through scripture, prayer, and the family of God. The Holy Spirit groans for us as we pray with words that are too deep for anyone to understand but the Father understands them for you.

Help us work out our faith in God. God wants us to have an abundant life and that's why he sent the helper who is our comforter, counselor, advocate, and intercessor. He's all these things to help us in this life so that we don't have to do it on our own.

And to give us power. Power to have overflowing joy in our lives, power to have overflowing hope, power to witness to others, power to understand the truth, power to spend eternity in heaven, and power of God's presence in our life.

It seems too good to be true, but it is true. God loves us as his own children, enough to adopt us into His family.

John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.” (NIV).
