Enduring Faith …

Faith is thoroughly tested in the fires of persecution when the

consequences for obeying God are severe. Paul says the just, that is, those justified in God's sight, shall live by faith.

Ask Abraham about living by faith, as he raised the knife to kill his son Isaac.

Speaking of faith, ask Gideon as he approached 200,000 enemy soldiers with a tiny band of only 300.

Talking about faith, asked Noah about faith during the 120 years he suffered ridicule while building the Ark.

Talk about faith, ask Joshua as he silently led Israel around the city of Jericho for seven days.

Speaking of faith, asked John the Baptist as he stood before King Herod and condemned the arrogant King for adultery.

Ask Daniel about faith, as he stood in the lion's den.

Ask Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as they stood in the fiery furnace.

And asked Jesus about faith, as

He struggled under the weight of the Cross on His way to Golgotha.

You see, it's only when obeying the will of God comes with great consequence to us personally that our faith is actually tested. So, by God setting up circumstances during the Great Tribulation where the laws of God and the laws of men are in conflict, and the penalty for violating both will be severe, that your faith is measured. You violate the law of God, you're going to get the seven last plagues. You violate the laws of men, you're going to lose your life.

Those living on Earth during the Great Tribulation are going to be tested. Our faith is going to be measured.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed. A righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)
