THE ETERNAL CITY IS JUST BEFORE US

The eternal city is just before us. The Sunlight of Glory floods all its streets. The God built New Jerusalem rises in all its matchless grandeur. We see the gates of pearl, the golden streets, the many mansions, the sea of glass, the river of life, and the throne of God.
The song of angels mingling with the harps of Heaven, now fall upon my ear. Never have I heard such music. My spirit is filled with an unutterable gratitude known only to Heavenly hearts. Angels come and welcome me. I no longer see through a glass darkly, but face to face. The veil has been lifted, and I look with undimmed vision upon the King of Glory.
I stand transfixed and gaze with silent and inexpressible awe. Flowing streams of wonder flood every avenue of my awestruck soul. The Savior rises and places the crown of life upon my head and addresses me saying, "Well, done, good and faithful servant.” The Lamb leads me out into green pastures, and beside still waters.
I stand upon the banks of the crystal shore which flows from the throne of God and gaze upon its placid surface. The shore is filled with the songs of angels. Their sweet vibrations strike every chord of my eternal heart, tuning it to sing in unison for the first time with the Heavenly choir and the blood washed multitude,
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory and blessing. Glory and honor, and power be unto Him who sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever!"
One such moment of bliss is more than human language can express or imagination can conceive, and more than balances all the hardships of Earth and sorrows of a broken heart.
I wait in joyous hope to see the day that crowns me at His side. I long to feel the unutterable bliss and to experience the consciousness of the first full drink from the fountain of eternal life as I lay my crown at the feet of Jesus. (shred of my journal)
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
