GOD WALKS AMONG US

“I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people” (Leviticus 26:12).
This amazing statement confirms a key theme in the Bible: God wants to be with His people. Throughout Scripture, the king of the universe draws near to the world and people He made. We could never reach God by our own efforts, but He persistently reaches out to us. No threat could stop God from making a way for all people to know Him.
The image of the Lord walking among humans in Leviticus 26:12 mirrors Genesis 3:8, in which God walked in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve’s sin dashed this intimacy with God. Thankfully, God has gone to great lengths to restore this beautiful relationship with those He made. He rescued Israel so that they would know and worship Him (Exodus 5:1).
The pillars of cloud ☁️ and fire 🔥 reminded them of His constant presence (Exodus 13:21). He instructed them to build the Tabernacle for Him to dwell with Israel. In this tent, God sojourned with His people. He became like one of them, living in a temporary dwelling. After Israel entered the land, God’s glory filled the Temple.
Centuries later, He physically walked among Israel. John wrote that Yeshua “dwelt among us” (John 1:14). God became a Jewish man, living among His people as one of them. Yeshua showed us just how far the Lord would go to draw us to Himself (John 12:32). He died and rose again to rescue us from sin and death.
When He returns, God will live with His people forever. We will enjoy the deep friendship with God for which we were made. As John wrote in Revelation, “The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them” (Rev 21:3). God will indeed walk among us, and we will be His people. 👑
May be an image of cloud, mountain and text that says '"I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people." LEVITICUS 26:12'
