TALIBAN IS CARRYING OUT MASS EXECUTIONS

Fellow American,

Little more than a month after the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan, a Christian missionary helping Afghans says the Taliban is carrying out mass executions.

Recent photos and video suggest the Taliban is killing as many as 30 to 40 people who they perceive as their enemies at a time.

Afghanistan’s estimated 8,000-12,000 Christian converts -- who make up one of the country’s largest religious minority groups -- are in tremendous danger.

Under the Taliban’s strict enforcement of Sharia law, leaving Islam is considered extremely shameful and converts can face dire consequences if discovered.

Many Christian converts are choosing to flee their homes in Afghanistan -- or risk being killed.

As International Christian Concern (ICC) said recently: “Prior to the Taliban’s takeover of the country, Afghanistan was one of the hardest places in the world to be a Christian.

With the Taliban now in complete control and likely to return the country to the oppression of the 1990s, it will be nearly impossible to be a Christian in Afghanistan.”

Fellow American, we know we can trust in God’s plan for His people -- whether it’s the persecuted church in Afghanistan, or our own struggles for religious liberty here in America.

He promises to protect His children -- but He also allows them to suffer for His name’s sake and under the the actions of godless men.

And we know that times of great persecution can also be times of tremendous growth for the church.

That is my prayer, even as we watch the suffering of the persecuted church in Afghanistan -- and see our own struggles for religious liberty and in defense of unborn life here in America.

In times of trial, I’m ever more grateful for the support of Faith & Freedom Coalition friends like you, Fellow American.

Your commitment to religious liberty, our Judeo-Christian values, and your fellow believers, is a shining light in a world that often feels very dark.

German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer said,

“No man builds the church but Christ alone … Church, do what is given to you to do well and you have done enough.”

That’s exactly what we at Faith & Freedom Coalition are committed to doing as we educate and mobilize people of faith … speak out on behalf of Christian values … and influence legislation and policy to defend religious liberty.

And as we do what is given to us and, with God’s help, do it well, I’m so grateful to have committed friends like you standing by our side.

Please join me in continuing to pray for Christians in Afghanistan -- for protection, for strength and courage, and commitment to the hope of the Gospel message.

And pray for our own great nation, that we would be bold in defense of religious liberty and standing up for the truth.

Thank you for your prayers, and for your support!
