Dedicate Each Day to God

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do and he will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3 NIV)

As a writer who loves sharing God’s promises, I began journaling well over forty years ago. 

My method was to focus on a daily highlight from what I learned as I spent time with our Lord, discovering the joy of knowing Him more intimately.

Another feature of my faith-walk over the years, has been to actually ‘dedicate’ each new day to the Lord. 

Before my day gets going, I spend the first part of each new day listening to Him in prayer and reading His Word. 

I have found when I purposely dedicate the day to His preeminence in the morning (whether work responsibilities, home or family tasks) His abiding presence gives me the direction and discernment I need to meet the needs of each day.

Now that I’m retired from over 40 plus years in government services, I now pursue my true vocation, established when I first dedicated my life to Christ at age 15. 

At the time, I had no idea where God would lead me. But daily dedicating each day to God has transformed my human reasoning and filled my days with purpose and hope beyond all the turmoil and fear we witness in the lost world around us.

Purposefully living each day for God’s honor helps me recognize how God expands our own borders of faith through the grace given to us in Christ Jesus as we commit to trusting and following Him.

Father, as we dedicate each day for your Spirit to lead us, we thank you for revealing your wise discernment and counsel to help us recognize “how all things work together for good to those who love you.” AMEN
