If you care about your gun rights you better get active!

SB 554 was formed by Chief sponsors Brudick, Manning, Wagner, Grayber, Prusak, Reynolds and Sollman, all ultra-liberal/progressive/Democrats and passed on a 16 to 7 vote in the Senate (16 Democrats to 7 Republicans).

However, many are disappointed beyond disappointment with members of the minority Republican Senate Caucus who decided to stay in the Senate Chamber instead of walk out and deny a quorum for the vote (yet some were willing).

The 2019 session is memorable as we remember that difficult act of denying quorum by the brave 11

We all wished for such brave actions again, but in vain

Now we must all dig in to some of the most difficult work to protect our constitution with a referral of SB 554 to a vote of the people.

Here is the summary provided with the bill, "Authorizes city, county, metropolitan service district, port operating commercial airport, school district, college or university to adopt ordinance or policy limiting or precluding affirmative defense for possession of firearms in public buildings by concealed handgun licensees.

Modifies definition of “public building,” for purposes of crime of possession of weapon in public building, to include certain airport areas, buildings owned or controlled by public bodies and real property owned by college or university.

Punishes violation by maximum of five years’ imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both."

The chief petitioner on the referral to stop SB 554 is former HD 23 Representative Mike Nearman who was, sadly, recently expelled from the legislature (yet the Precinct Committee members recently gave him the most votes to return to his position).

You can learn more about the referral and get petitions and offer help here. https://responsibleresponse.com/

We continue to educate, organize, identify other supporters and encourage Oregon taxpayers to take $50 or $100 per couple out of the states tax coffer so it can't pay for taxpayer funded abortions (called the political action tax credit).
Your immediate help of $25, $50, $100 or more to help us protect life can take some of that money away from abortions (those state funded abortions).
Thank you for your consideration!
No gift is too large or too small, so I hope we can count on you standing with us today. Oregon is a winnable state and we should not give up on it!

Help us change the Oregon political landscape today.
