Hello Friend,
Who are the women that have made a difference in your life? I know there are probably many women who have taught you valuable lessons—either through their words or by example.
Some people might think that the Bible places women in secondary or inferior status to men, or that it teaches they are somehow lesser in importance. That couldn’t be further from the truth. When God made us, He intentionally created us male and female, and Scripture says that both reflect His very image. The Bible gives us amazing examples of women who teach us about faith, courage, persistence, humility, strength, compassion, and love.

While there have been many books written about the women of the Bible, there’s a new one that I want to recommend to you because it’s unique. What I like about this new book is that it takes 16 women from the Bible and pairs them off into eight different chapters for the purpose of highlighting attributes that they share. It gets you thinking about these women in ways you might not have previously considered. I also like the fact that it doesn’t try to hide the fact that these women were flawed, faulty, and forgiven—they are people that we can relate to because we know what it’s like to be imperfect too.
The book I’m talking about is called The Women of the Bible Speak. You may recognize the author if you’ve ever turned on Fox News Channel. Her name is Shannon Bream. Attorney, reporter, marathon runner, top student, beaty pageant finalist, author, fly fisher, and more—Shannon is foremost a believer who is passionate about sharing God’s Word with the world. In getting to know her, I’ve been really impressed with her knowledge of the Bible and her boldness of faith.
In celebration of Mother’s Day this month and in honor of the women who’ve made such a powerful impact in our lives, we’re highlighting this fantastic new book in May and offering it as a thank-you gift to anyone who donates to Harvest Ministries. |
