Having terrorized California churches for over a year, Gov. Gavin Newsom has now been forced to give up—and pay up.

Liberty Counsel has obtained a PERMANENT STATEWIDE injunction prohibiting Newsom and the State of California from EVER issuing another discriminatory restriction on ANY church or place of worship! And this is not limited to COVID restrictions.

No more church closings. No more capacity limits. No more singing bans. No more fines. No more threats of prison. NO MORE. Not ever.

The California churches are once again FREE to worship and minister to people as the Lord leads, not as government dictates.

The Constitution has been fully restored and vindicated!

This is the FIRST statewide permanent injunction in the nation. Every persecuted church in California benefits from this win. California had to call a cease-fire. Now the state will have to pay each church for persecuting them. The 3 million dollar fine on a Southern California church will end!

We will not rest until every domino in America falls and every church is free —PERMANENTLY! 

Liberty Counsel is determined to ensure that the constitutional violations we have witnessed over the last year will never be repeated against the church.

It has taken us ONE YEAR of vigorous and aggressive litigation in multiple courts, including the Supreme Court, to permanently quarantine Gov. Newsom. Our team has invested thousands of hours into this case alone, working through the night, on weekends and holidays.

Gov. Newsom banned ALL worship and singing, including home Bible studies and worship! Worship in churches or homes was criminal for nearly a year.

Pastor Ché Ahn, a son of Korean immigrants, who has also planted churches in over 70 nations, recognized tyranny the moment Gov. Newsom announced his church shutdown orders. People were hurting with the churches closed. Meanwhile, Newsom celebrated his birthday with 12 friends and paid thousands of dollars for meals that ranged from 350 to 850 dollars each.

We “lost” initially, won at the Supreme Court, but lost again before an Obama-appointed judge. Returning to the Supreme Court, we won again. Now we have permanently quarantined Newsom and California—FOREVER!

Pundits said, “This case is not winnable.” Not in California. Not in the Ninth Circuit.

THEY WERE WRONG! What was intended for evil, God turned around for good (Gen. 50:20)!

Mordecai told Esther she may be called to “the kingdom for such a time as this.” Remaining silent would not save her. She prayed and put everything on the line. So did the pastor. The Pasadena criminal prosecutor sent a chilling letter threatening the pastors, staff and parishioners with daily criminal charges and fines. Each criminal charge carries up to one year in prison. But the Gospel cannot be chained. The church stood against the storm.

Meanwhile, attendance has boomed at Harvest Rock and other churches that steadfastly refused to obey Newsom’s illegal church and worship bans.

Only God could take such an obvious attempt to destroy the church and turn it into massive growth and blessing. The Lord is good!

Fighting for freedom on another front—HR 1 . . .

Elections matter. Because Justice Barrett was confirmed to the High Court last year, her vote replaced Ginsburg’s—a terrible Justice on life and religious freedom. 

Because the Democrat leaders in Washington hate our values, they are pushing HR 1. If HR 1 (S 1) is passed in the Senate, our vote will never matter again.

This bill is in the Senate with 49 Democrat co-sponsors. They are pushing hard to get one more. We must stop this dangerous bill.
