Dear Friend, It was a little over two years ago when New York's state legislature passed a bill allowing abortions up until the day of birth. They even celebrated the "victory" with a standing ovation and by illuminating the One World Trade Center spire with pink light. At the federal level, in just the past few months: - President Biden signed an executive order revoking the Mexico City Policy that had prohibited American taxpayer dollars from funding overseas abortion services; he also pledged to overturn the Protect Life Rule, thereby restoring Title X funding for abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood.
- Nancy Pelosi's House of Representatives passed the Equality Act, which would essentially create a legislative "right" to abortion and remove conscience protections for medical professionals opposed to abortion; Congress also included nearly $11 billion that can be used to lobby for or directly fund abortions in the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill, the American Rescue Plan.
