Hello Friend,
When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey, the people laid down their garments and palm branches and shouted, “Hosanna!” which means “Save now!” This enthusiastic crowd was anxious to welcome a king who would overthrow Rome and put an end to the empire’s occupation of Israel.
But that was not Jesus’ plan. He had bigger things in store: overthrowing death and conquering the grave! Instead of saving them from an emperor, He wanted to save them from their sins.
This crowd shouting “Hosanna!” would soon be shouting “Crucify Him!” instead. I want to talk to you more about all this in my message for Palm Sunday this weekend on Harvest at Home.
Like that fickle crowd, someone you know may have expectations about God that are different than reality. Maybe you should invite them to tune in this Sunday. And be sure to tell them about our Easter Cinematic Experience. We’ve got a fantastic event in store, featuring worship from Matt Redman.
Let us know you’re interested in attending our Easter Cinematic Experience online: |
