(CNSNews.com) - The text of the “Equality Act,” which the U.S. House of Representatives passed on Thursday, begins with a series of “findings” in which, among other things, the House reports that older women in same-sec relationships are more likelihood to find themselves in poverty than older women in relationships with men.

“Numerous studies demonstrate that LGBTQ people, especially transgender people and women, are economically disadvantaged and at a higher risk for poverty compared with other groups of people,” said the finding in the bill.
