 I Am Grieved for America

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, Psalm 33: 12. KJV

A POWERFUL EXAMPLE of government being infiltrated by the enemy in order to stop prayer is found in Daniel Chapter 6. 

We all know the story of Daniel in the lion’s den. 

But consider what the instigators wanted. 

They objected to his position of authority and favor, which was God-given. 

They were jealous. 

They spread lies, and eventually they got laws changed in order to STOP HIS PRAYERS TO THE ONE TRUE GOD. 

Laws were changed to stop public and even private praying.

Daniel continued to pray and praise God three times a day. 

That’s the POWER of one man’s steadfastness. 

Those who wanted to destroy him were themselves thrown into the lion’s den. 

King Darius then acknowledged that Daniel’s God was the One True God and sent forth that very proclamation throughout his kingdom. 

One nation under God. 

That is what America once was. 

God hears the prayers of those who trust him, even at great personal risk. 

The risk is becoming greater every day that Christians lose their freedom to pray and to worship the One True God. 

Father God, I bow before Your throne with praises and thanksgiving. 

I repent for our national sins as Daniel repented for Israel’s. 

I ask You, God of the armies of heaven, to send your angels to close the mouths of the lions who lie to destroy our government. 

Not because we deserve it, but because of Your great mercy. 

You are Greater than the enemy who seeks to stop the prayers of Your people. 

I ask in the Name of Messiah, Jesus, Whose I am and Whom I serve. Amen.
