Why does God permit killer viruses, atrocities, and destruction on this planet?

Look at Genesis. 

Everything He created "was VERY good." 

God is not the author of evil. 

He did not create killer viruses, disasters, etc. 

Could God have stopped Adam from breaking the covenant that brought the curse of sin and death? 

Does God limit our choices to do only right and stop us from doing wrong? 

Ask Hitler.

People who believe God is the author of bad things will NOT resist the one who is. 

John 10:10 says the thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy. 

Jesus comes to give life more abundantly. 

We are told to submit to God and resist the devil. 

If we believe that sickness, the thing that steals our lives, is from God, why would we resist it? 

If we believe we don't deserve His mercy (and none of us do), we accept things He never intended for us, instead of understanding that Christ's finished work makes us worthy.

I woke one day with an extreme attack of vertigo. 

I could have said, God is trying to discipline me or teach me something, so I'll submit to His will. 

Instead, I said, I resist this in the name of Jesus. 

The Lord reminded me that faith without works is dead, so I knew I needed to act on my faith. 

I got up and did my usual exercise. 

Within a few minutes, all symptoms of dizziness and nausea disappeared and have never returned.

Praise God, the author of life! He is for us and not against us!
