FAITH GOES BEYOND OUR FEELINGS

Faith Goes Beyond Our Feelings
Robert Schaetzle

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God. Romans 5: 1-2 RSV

These last few weeks, our fellowship is not assembling Sunday mornings, because of Covid-19.

Our pastors have been encouraging us through YouTube and other media.

Even our Sunday school class and Wednesday morning prayer groups are meeting with Zoom technology.

This way, we still get to gather together in fellowship, sharing our hopes, love, and encouragement.

With these troubled times, everyone in our group recognizes that fear is rampant in the world and the church.

We also know that this is our chance to let our faith shine, walking by faith, and not by feelings and sight.

Worry and fear will accomplish nothing, but God's great peace can overcome anything and allow us to be of great value in this storm.

We must remember and lean heavily upon the power of God's presence within us, sharing our hope with others.

As we commune with our heavenly Father, let us turn our worries and fears into prayers and faith.

Take moments each day in gratitude for what is right and good in our lives and praise God for it.

These moments will calm our soul as we sense God's love and presence in our struggle.

We will be greatly blessed as we recognize and acknowledge God's hand of grace throughout each day.

Father, even though these days are very challenging, we still find rest and peace when we focus on your authority over every situation.

Help us to walk in your presence in faith over feelings.

Help us to walk in gratitude and in your peace that overcomes all circumstances. Amen
