They Treat Me Like I Am Stupid

I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. Psalm 139:14

When I was a kid, I had learning difficulties. 

The worst part is the other kids knew it and called me stupid. 

I thought as I got older, things would change. 

Adults are grownups, right? 

Unfortunately, things have not changed as much as I had hoped, it hurts just as much when adults who have a higher intellect, talk down to me in the same manner. 

It is quite apparent by their tone of voice and disregard for my thoughts and ideas. 

It especially hurts when those I respect, treat me as if I am the dumbest person on the face of the Earth.

Okay, maybe I am not the smartest person in the world and don't always think through my thoughts before I speak. 

But, because of how I have been treated, I have never thought very highly of myself. 

People's words and actions have often made me feel entirely worthless.

Nonetheless, I know God has a purpose for me. 

Maybe the reason I have been hurt so much is to reach others who feel the same. 

Perhaps that someone is you. 

If you can relate, you need to know that there is someone named Jesus who does not think we are worthless no matter what the world says about us. 

We have so much worth in his eyes that he shed his own blood on the cross for our sins. 

He did this so we can spend eternity with him, even those of us who were not the smartest kid on the block in this life.

Don't let the others define your worth. 

Let Jesus define you. 

He came to seek and save the lost and no one searches for something that has no value. 

In God's eyes, we are priceless. 

He made us in an amazing and wonderful way.
