As millions of students head back to school, I’d like to ask you to do two things.
- First, pray for God’s protection—not just physically—but over the hearts and minds of America’s children. Also, pray for the Christian teachers who are trying to hold the line in America’s public schools. They are in a difficult position in this age of political correctness and anti-Christian hostility.
- Second, we have a petition to Attorney General William Barr asking him to protect religious freedom in California’s schools—and by extension all of America’s schools. We would like to send it to you for your signature. Here’s an overview of the issue.
“For years, as the public schools have become increasingly hostile toward parents, the courts have insisted that the parents’ option is to instead choose private education. Now, that fundamental right is also under attack.” This is a chilling statement made by Brad Dacus, founder and president of the Pacific Justice Institute. Dacus is the lead attorney in the River View Christian Academy’s lawsuit against the State of California. RVCA is a boarding school for troubled teens, and earlier this year, the State of California raided the school based on an unfounded internet rumor. When no stockpile of weapons or illegal drugs were found, instead of apologizing, the State doubled down—issuing fines and threats that would require the school to go against their Biblical moral standards.
Thank goodness for Christian legal groups who take up these cases and call out our government officials. Again, Brad Dacus shares, “In 25 years of practice, I have never seen this level of aggressive, militant, and ideologically driven conduct by a state agency against a religious institution.”
What happens in California will spread across America. Please don’t miss this opportunity to take a stand on this violation of the Constitution. If we don’t speak out, who will? Thank you!
