WHY I AM POSTPONING OUR TENT CRUSADE IN RENO
The only reason that I am writing this is because so many are expecting a crusade in Reno.
As a local resident of Reno, I have desired to bless the city with an annual tent crusade.
Last September we worked with existing ministries to feed and clothe the poor and win the lost.
We put our tent right in the middle of Reno’s neediest area. Many made public confessions to Christ.
This year we were prepared to do the same from September 8-12.
We locked-in a strategic site across the street from the Peppermill Casino.
We had teams in place and we had the fiery momentum of the people who were at our World Convention.
Now I will tell you why that crusade must be postponed.
I ran into a reluctance on the part of local leadership to participate in the Crusade.
The people are excited but some leaders are not.
Excitement in the people unmatched by enthusiasm from the leaders is an unhealthy situation to walk into.
I will not do that.
But the biggest reason for the postponement is that we must go to California.
Leaders in California are begging for us to come.
They are willing to work and are sacrificing to get our tent in their community.
Then the shooting in Gilroy happened, that redoubled my urgency for California.
All that to say the Lord wants us to win souls in California.
I want to make special mention of Pastor Roger Canary of Spirit-Filled Church in Sparks who generously agreed to store our chairs used in our World Convention until they would have been taken to the tent.
I also want to highlight the support of Pastor David Oberg and Faith Alive, who has been so generous and helpful.
THIS IS ONLY A POSTPONEMENT. WE ARE STILL REACHING OUT TO LEADERS AND WE WILL BE WINNING SOULS IN RENO. STAY TUNED.
