TRUMP TO SESSIONS: STOP THE MUELLER INVESTIGATION "RIGHT NOW"

 - The Washington Times - Updated: 11:31 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018
President Trump on Wednesday directly called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions  to end special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling into the 2016 election.
Mr. Trump demanded Mr. Sessions stop the investigation “before it continues to stain our country any further,” calling the probe a “disgrace.”
The president’s comments came after he quoted Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz, who suggested that Muelleris trying to protect his team at the expense of the investigation.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation in March.
Mr. Trump continued to denounce accusations of collusion, calling them a “TOTAL HOAX” on Twitter. He accused the Democrats of using the Steele dossier and several key officials in the FBI to “begin the Witch Hunt.”
Mr. Mueller’s investigation into foreign meddling in the 2016 election has already resulted in several indictments, including 12 Russians for hacking the DNC. Additionally, the special counsel is looking to determine if the president’s campaign colluded with the foreign agents.
The special counsel is also probing a potential obstruction of justice case against the president.
Mr. Mueller is reportedly considering Mr. Trump’s tweets about former FBI director James Comey and Mr. Sessions to see if they were an attempt to pressure witnesses and officials involved in the Russia investigation.
Democrats are already slamming the president over his morning message.
The ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Adam Schiff said Mr. Trump’s tweet was “an attempt to obstruct justice hiding in plain sight.”
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer accused the president of trying to distract Americans from the success of the Mueller investigation.
“Remember Mr. President, getting to the truth is critical for our security and democracy,” the New York Democrat tweeted.
The conservative group Americans for Limited Government echoed Mr. Trump’s call for an end to the special counsel’s probe, calling Mr. Mueller’s team “a hit squad.”
“It becomes clear this is a politically motivated hit job when you look at the prosecution of Paul Manafort which has nothing to do with Russia hacking, collusion or even the 2016 election,” said ALG President Rick Manning.
“Tony Podesta, brother of former Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, and Paul Manafort worked together on the same issues in Ukraine.
Both are accused of potentially failing to register as foreign lobbyist crimes, but only one of them is being prosecuted by Mueller’s team, while the other, rightfully so, has been handed off to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan.
Why?
Because Paul Manafort worked for Donald Trump.”
NBC News reported this week that Mr. Mueller’s team referred an investigation of Mr. Podesta and others to the U.S. attorney’s office.

My comments: Trump is right to call on AG Sessions to STOP the ILLEGAL Mueller, so called, Investigation. It should have Never been started, and would not have, if Sessions had not stupidly Recused himself. As it stands, the DOJ and FBI remain CORRUPT, and this must end, or America will become a Permanent Police State.
