TRUMP CLAIMS FBI 'ILLEGALLY SPIED' ON CARTER PAGE

 - The Washington Times - Updated: 10:46 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018
President Trump on Sunday said he had a “great” meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said his campaign was “illegally spied upon” in 2016, putting him at odds with a senator in his own party.
Mr. Trump is still dealing with the fallout of his widely panned press conference with Mr. Putin in Helsinki, where he held a closed-door meeting the Russian leader and then appeared to accept Mr. Putin’s claim that he didn’t meddle in the election.
The president had to walk back some of his comments upon returning to the U.S.
Republicans such as Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said Mr. Trump left a poor impression by failing to stand up to Mr. Putin in person.
“I wish it would have gone differently,” Mr. Rubio told CNN’s State of the Union.
House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy took issue with Mr. Trump’s “equivocation” during the press conference, though the president insisted he did a fine job.
“I had a GREAT meeting with Putin and the Fake News used every bit of their energy to try and disparage it. So bad for our country!” Mr. Trump said Sunday on Twitter.
Mr. Trump also accused the FBI of illegally spying on his 2016 team through Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser for the campaign.
He was referring to the release of previously top-secret documents used by the FBI to obtain a wiretap Mr. Page from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.
“Congratulations to @JudicialWatch and @TomFitton on being successful in getting the Carter Page FISA documents. As usual they are ridiculously heavily redacted but confirm with little doubt that the Department of ‘Justice’ and FBI misled the courts. Witch Hunt Rigged, a Scam!” Mr. Trump tweeted.
Capitol Hill Republicans have taken issue with the FBI’s use of a “dossier” funded in part by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, though the FBI was also tracking Mr. Page’s activity related to Russia.
Mr. Rubio said Mr. Page was a guy “on their screen before the campaign.”
When he got closer to Mr. Trump’s orbit, the FBI got interested and applied for the snooping warrant, the senator said.
“By the Trump campaign’s own admission, Carter Page was not a big player in their campaign,” Mr. Rubio told CNN. “I don’t believe that [the FBI] looking into Carter Page means they were spying on the campaign. I also don’t believe it proves anything about collusion or anything like that.”

My comments: Trump is right, the FBI Illegally Spied on carter Page. The fact is that the FISA Warrant to Spy on Carter Page was Fallacious, Illegal, and a Police State like action by the FBI and DOJ. They concealed evidence from the FISA Court, using the unverified Dossier, in order to obtain the Warrant.
