THE CONTINUAL CHRISTIAN FAST

There is one Fast that every Christian must participate in,

And that is from the Heart-set and Mind-set of the World.

It is summarized in 1 John 2:

16 For all that is in the World,

The Lust of the flesh

[Craving for sensual gratification],

And the Lust of the eyes

[Greedy longings of the mind]

And the Pride of life

[Assurance of one's own resources

Or in the stability of earthly things]--

These do not come from the Father

But from the World.

17 And the World Passes Away and Disappears,

And with it the Forbidden Cravings

(The passionate desires, the Lust) of it;

But he who does the Will of God

And carries out His purposes in his life,

Abides (remains) forever.

(1 John 2:16-17)

The Heart-set and Mind-set of the World

Is the Opposite of that of the Christian,

As it comes from he who controls the World, Satan.

Satan controls the World through these things.

It is these things that the Christian must Fast from,

If he or she is to belong to Christ Jesus.

The Righteousness, Peace and Joy of the Kingdom of God,

Are to be what Motivates the Christian;

Their passionate desire is to do the Will of God,

According to His Word,

By the Power of the Holy Spirit living in them.
