The Word of God teaches

That before the Return of Christ Jesus;

Before God's Great Tribulation,

One will be Taken and one will Remain.

(Matthew 24:40)

The Parable Of The Ten Virgins

AT THAT TIME THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

WILL BE LIKE TEN VIRGINS

WHO TOOK THEIR LAMPS

AND WENT OUT TO MEET THE BRIDEGROOM.

2 FIVE OF THEM WERE FOOLISH

AND FIVE WERE WISE.

3 TO FOOLISH ONES TOOK THEIR LAMPS

BUT DID NOT TAKE ANY OIL WITH THEM.

4 THE WISE, HOWEVER, TOOK OIL IN JARS

ALONG WITH THEIR LAMPS.

5 THE BRIDEGROOM WAS A LONG TIME COMING,

AND THEY ALL BECAME DROWSY AND FELL ASLEEP.

6 AT MIDNIGHT THE CRY RAN OUT:

'HERE'S THE BRIDEGROOM!

COME OUT TO MEET HIM!'

7 THEN ALL THE VIRGINS WOKE UP

AND TRIMMED THEIR LAMPS.

8 THE FOOLISH ONES SAID TO THE WISE,

'GIVE US SOME OF YOUR OIL;

OUR LAMPS ARE GOING OUT.'

9 'NO,' THEY REPLIED,

THEIR MAY NOT BE ENOUGH FOR BOTH US AND YOU.

INSTEAD, GO TO THOSE WHO SELL OIL

AND BUY SOME FOR YOURSELVES.'

10 'BUT WHILE THEY WERE ON THEIR WAY TO BUY OIL,

THE BRIDEGROOM ARRIVED.

THE VIRGINS WHO WERE READY

WENT IN WITH HIM TO THE WEDDING BANQUET.

AND THE DOOR WAS SHUT.

11 LATER THE OTHERS ALSO CAME.

'SIR! SIR! THEY SAID.

OPEN THE DOOR FOR US!'

12 BUT HE REPLIED,

'I TELL YOU THE TRUTH,

I DON'T KNOW YOU.'

13 'THEREFORE KEEP WATCH,

BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW

THE DAY OR THE HOUR.'

(Matthew 25:1-13)

This is a story about Virgins;

Those who have made

A confession of Faith in Christ Jesus.

Five were Wise and Five were Foolish.

Why?

Because the Five Wise Virgins

Had enough Oil to meet the Bridegroom, Christ Jesus

And the Five Foolish Virgins did not.

What is Oil?

It is a Type of the Holy Spirit.

The Five Foolish Virgins

Did not have enough of the Holy Spirit;

Enough of a relationship with the Holy Spirit

To meet the Bridegroom.

They though that they did,

But in fact they did not.

They Five Foolish Virgins

Asked the Five Wise Virgins

For some of their Oil,

But the Holy Spirit is not a Commodity.

One cannot give another their Oil.

When it was announced

That the Bridegroom was coming,

The Five Foolish Virgins went looking for Oil.

But it could not be found.

Relationship with the Holy Spirit

Is not something one can acquire at will,

It is built up over time.

The Bridegroom, Christ, came,

And the Five Wise Virgins

Went into the Wedding Banquet

And the Door was closed.

Later the Five came

And Pleaded with the Bridegroom

To open the Door for them,

But He would not, and could not,

Because He did not Know them.

The Wedding banquet

Is for those who Christ KNOWS.

And, Yes, One will be Taken and One will Remain.

Therefore Keep Watch,

Because you do no know

THE DAY OR THE HOUR.
