TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

“Turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord” (Luke 1:17).

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.
The theme on my heart lately is a very simple verse: “It is the last hour” (1 John 2:18). Some celebrate a year’s end with frantic party-going, as if to make up for a whole year of dismal living. Others fall into deep depression, realizing that another year is passing; and feeling they have little to show for it. Some optimistic people take the end of a year to set themselves new goals and resolutions for the year to come.
As for millennium awareness, international leaders spent millions trying to generate optimism that a.d. 2000 would be the start of a wonderful new age.
Only one power on earth can bring a fundamental alteration in us, and that is the gospel. The kingdom of God will not come because God looks at a calendar. Nicodemus came to ask Jesus about Israel being restored to the kingdom glory of the times of Solomon, but Jesus answered:
“Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
Jesus meant Nicodemus and Israel. Getting rid of the Romans and creating political change, would do nothing to bring in a wonderful new order: but being born-again brings the kingdom of God near! You are in the kingdom of God!

Christ Jesus prayed that all those who would believe in Him would be ONE, just as He and the Father are ONE; that they be brought to complete unity so that the world would know that He was sent by the Father. (John 17:20-23)
