Because I believe, rivers of living waters will flow out of my heart. "On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water' " (John 7:37–38).
That is, rivers of living water will flow from anyone who “believes in Me, as the Scripture has said.” It is not living waters that Jesus says the Scripture talks about—but Himself and those who believe on Him.
People have not found which Scripture Jesus had in mind when He spoke of waters, although we have suggested Isaiah 58:11. The promise of living water originates with Jesus Himself, and as Peter preached,
“The promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call” (Acts 2:39).
