Yet another convert to Islam gets the idea that his new religion calls for treason and mass murder. Lepsky is just the latest in a long list. Authorities remain completely and indefatigably uninterested in this recurring phenomenon.

…Gregory Lepsky, 21, of Point Pleasant Borough, pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization before U.S. District Judge Michael Shipp, in Trenton.

A plea deal with prosecutors calls for him to spend 16 to 19 years in prison. He could have faced 20, officials said….

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney James Donnelly, a search of Lepsky’s computer and other electronics uncovered his plan to build and detonate a bomb as part of his support for ISIS.

During several social media conversations, Lepsky told others that he intended to fight on behalf of ISIS and that he would, if necessary, become a martyr by driving a “bunch of explosives” to where the “enemies” could be found and blowing himself up, Donnelly said in court.

Authorities say Lepsky wanted to build a bomb from a pressure cooker, and detonate it in a populous part of New York City in order to kill as many people as possible.

A search of Lepesky’s internet history revealed that he had been researching ISIS and extremest groups throughout the month of January 2017. In one search Lepesky [sic] researched different knives seen ISIS beheading videos and then purchased a knife online.

In another search Lepesky [sic] had read an article from an extremist magazine that contained step-by-step instructions for building a homemade bomb with a list of supplies to be used.

The day of his arrest investigators found an empty pressure cooker in his home, wooden matches and a timing device, all of which he had ordered online, but the materials had not been fashioned into a bomb.

Investigators also found several books on jihad and suicide bombings in Lepsky’s home.

Following his arrest last year, an incident in which he stabbed his family’s dog, Lepsky was taken to a local hospital, where he told an employee, with police present, that his name was Allah Abdel Rochmad and that he was “working for ISIS.”

In several online posts, Lepsky pledged allegiance to ISIS and discussed traveling to Syria to fight with his “brothers,” authorities said last year.
