OUR ULTIMATE OBJECTIVE

OUR ULTIMATE OBJECTIVE TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:7–8). DAILY FIRE! I am empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry out the Great Commission, however near or far, large or small. We cannot all be preachers or evangelists. There must be people who do all sorts of different jobs in order to keep society and our churches functioning. Yet, whatever our concern with the fabric of mortal life, and the issues of society, the call of Christ to preach the gospel to all creatures must still be our ultimate objective. To put it another way, we can be like Jonah, whose most immediate problem was the loss of shade that had been provided by his now-dead plant, or so he thought. Are we more disturbed about endangered species in the North Atlantic than by the eternal danger in which Christ-rejecters stand?
