ASK CONGRESS TO INVESTIGATE THE SPLC

Sign the petition asking for hearings on the SPLC TUESDAY, OCT 3, 2017   Ask Congress to investigate the SPLC The Southern Poverty Law Center [SPLC] did some good work in the early days of its founding against hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan.  But in recent years, they have turned to labelling those holding biblical, Christian convictions (including D. James Kennedy Ministries) as “hate groups” alonside the Klan and neo-Nazis. And they have reaped enormous profits doing it! A recent investigation by the Free Beacon claimed that the SPLC has pushed millions of dollars into offshore accounts. Their financial disclosure shows an endowment of more than $300 million. And yet, according to the Free Beacon report, the SPLC only spends a tiny fraction of that money on legal work representing oppressed people—the very work they claim is their mission.   Instead, they peddle a defamatory “hate map” to the media and scare their liberal consituency into donating huge amounts of money. Fear has been a very profitable venture for the Southern Poverty Law Center indeed. Because their dealings are so dishonest, and so contrary to the public perception of their mission, they need to be investigated.  We are calling upon Rep. Trey Gowdy, Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, to hold hearings on the Southern Poverty Law Center to make them accountable for their erroneous and dangerous work. The SPLC’s work of reaping enormous profits while slandering groups like ours, the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Family Research Council (whose offices were attacked by an SPLC-inspired terrorist) and many others, must not be allowed to continue unchallenged.
