Faith & Freedom Friends,
Our country has experienced great devastation this week as Hurricane Harvey took to the great state of Texas.
Families lost their homes, belongings, pets and so much more. Some even lost loved ones. Amidst all of this, Americans, Texans, first responders and law enforcement have chosen to put their lives on the line for one another. What a testament to our amazing country.
Yesterday, President Trump went a step further than just recognizing the tragedy of Harvey by declaring this Sunday a “National Day of Prayer” for the state of Texas.
What an honor to serve alongside a president who believes in the power of praying to the one, true God! Our Chairman Ralph Reed had the privilege of standing by the President’s side as he made this declaration and shared the following thoughts in the Oval Office:
"It goes without saying that in a moment like this we all come together as Americans, bow to Almighty God, and we ask for His grace and mercy for those who are affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Mr. President, we thank you, the Vice President, and your entire team for everything you are doing to deploy all of the resources of government to help those who have been affected, and most of all we thank you for acknowledging that ultimately it is God who is the source of our unity as Americans, and thank you for issuing this proclamation."
Please take a moment to watch the “National Day of Prayer” proclamation from the Oval Office.
So join Christians from coast to coast this Sunday as we pray for the victims of Hurricane Harvey and for God to unify our nation through this trial.
Also, encourage your church to take time this Sunday to lift up our fellow Americans during this critical moment in our nation’s history.
Standing in the gap,
Timothy Head
