The Southern Poverty Law Center [SPLC] is continuing its campaign of smearing Christians and conservatives by designating them as “hate groups” and extremists—merely for believing in traditional Christian doctrines.
Most recently, the SPLC’s false claims about our friends at the Alliance Defending Freedom—co-founded by Dr. Kennedy—were parroted by Senator Al Franken in a judicial confirmation hearing.
The SPLC has labeled this outstanding legal group, which recently won a major decision before the U.S. Supreme Court as a “hate group.” And they’ve slandered Carol Swain, an African-American Vanderbilt law professor (and recent guest on our Truths That Transform program) as a “white supremacist apologist” because she supported a film which she felt took a different and useful perspective on race.
This is just par for the course for the Southern Poverty Law Center. They have branded D. James Kennedy Ministries a “hate group,” which is simply false and defamatory. So we filed suit against them in federal court.
This is an essential fight for religious freedom, as the SPLC (and those who mindlessly parrot their propaganda) effectively marginalize and silence Christians.
We won’t be silenced, and we won’t assent to seeing others silenced either. But the SPLC has vast resources. Their latest financial report shows an SPLC endowment of over $300 million.
In order to stand up against such a juggernaut, we need your help.
Please consider giving a generous donation to help us move forward in this lawsuit. If we do not stand up now, more and more ministries, churches, and Christians, will be marginalized and silenced.
The defamatory SPLC “hate map” has been used by media, educators, and law enforcement to single out Bible-believing Christians!
Will you stand with us? With God’s help and your support, we expect to prevail. Please join us in the most crucial recent battle we’ve faced.
Sincerely,
Frank Wright, Ph.D. President and CEO D. James Kennedy Ministries |
