IS THE U.S. NAVY STILL COMPETENT?

TRAGIC Discovery in Compartment of USS John S. McCain Raises Disturbing Questions Leading Directly Back to Obama

Sadly, we are again sending out our heartfelt condolences to our Navy family on the loss of Sailors in the Pacific. It wasn’t too long ago that we were expressing grief over the loss of Sailors in Japan when their ship struck a ship. And the exact same has occurred once again.
According to allenbwest.com:
As reported by CNBC, Navy and Marine Corps divers on Tuesday located the remains of some of the 10 sailors missing from the USS John S. McCain following its collision with an oil tanker off the Malaysia coast, the Navy said Tuesday.
Divers investigating damage to the ship “were able to locate some remains in those sealed compartment during their search,” said Admiral Scott Swift, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
Swift said the Malaysian Navy has reported locating other potential remains and are working to confirm the identities. Naval ships from Singapore and Malaysia were aiding the U.S. Navy in a massive search that was continuing Tuesday, Swift said.
The McCain, a guided missile destroyer, was about five miles off the coast of Malaysia and headed for routine port visit to Singapore when it collided with the Liberian-flagged Alnic MC, 600-foot oil and chemical tanker.
And as reported by Fox News, ” This marked the fourth mishap for U.S. Navy ships in the Pacific since February. Aside from the USS McCain and USS Fitzgerald incidents, the Navy cruiser USS Antietam ran aground dumping over 1,000 gallons of oil in Tokyo Bay in February. In May, another cruiser, USS Lake Champlain, hit a South Korean fishing vessel.”
However, it’s time we ask a more important question: what is happening in our military? If you recall, we’ve written previously about aviation mishaps being on the increase in our military. And recently we had a C-130 aircraft crash killing all on board, and a U.S. Army Blackhawk helicopter crash in Hawaii with no survivors. This rash of naval mishaps in our Pacific Fleet is very disconcerting and all comes back to the issue of training and readiness.
For the life of me, I cannot recall such a run on naval incidents involving collisions. The first thing that comes to mind is ship officer qualifications and level of training. With all the highly sophisticated radar and equipment aboard our naval vessels, these incidents are unconscionable. And I would actually take this back to the Navy Riverine assault boat incident with Iran. The circumstances of that incident were always and still remain blurry. U.S. Navy officers do not surrender their ships, and the excuse about mechanical issues just didn’t add up. Then again, it reflects back on readiness. I sincerely doubt those assault boats departed without full maintenance checks and verification. If they did, it comes back to the level of training, and perhaps, competence of the officer in charge.
We’ve witnessed a very dangerous increase in these “accidents” and some are occurring in deployed combat zones, such as helicopter crashes in Afghanistan.
So, are we seeing evidence of the horrific years of decimation of our military capability and capacity emanating from the Obama administration? There’s no debate that there is a cause and effect relationship. There have been years of decline of our military training and readiness and it seems that the consequences and ramifications are now evident. These aren’t isolated incidents; there’s something systemic happening within our armed forces. It’s obvious that former SecNav Ray Mabus spent more time being occupied with social egalitarian policies and an ideological agenda focused not on the training and readiness of the U.S. Navy, but rather appeasement of special interests.
And let’s be honest, this is the legacy of one Barack Obama. Obama paid lip service for eight years when it came to our military. As a matter of fact, in his final four years, you saw him far less on our military installations visiting with our troops — along with first lady Michelle Obama. Obama’s vision for our military had less to do with a capable force able to be a credible deterrent but rather was all about social engineering and his warped interpretation of “fairness.” Thanks to his undermining of our military, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines are losing their lives because the emphasis in the Obama years was not on training and readiness of our force.
Of course, you will NOT hear anyone in the liberal progressive media address this, unless they can blame it on President Donald J. Trump. It’s deplorable, maddening, how the media gives Obama the ultimate pass, a get out of jail free card. Yet the same media spent years, along with Obama, blaming the Bush administration for the “mess inherited” by Obama.
This mess is costing lives, but it is just another indicator of which lives matter to the progressive socialist left.
