REPENTANCE - AMERICA'SONLY HOPE

August 30, 2017
Repentance--America's only hope
By Madeline Crabb

Is America coming apart at her proverbial seams? Certainly we are being attacked from without and within.
We face possible World War III because of maniacal lunatics abroad posing as world leaders, and Civil War at home from home-grown lazies and crazies, who can't seem to function in a civil, moral, and orderly society.

Additionally there are the foreigners coming here to live, often times illegally crossing our borders. Scores of them, with their hands out to receive whatever they can get from our generosity, riot in our streets and attempt to make us into the image of their mother countries.
Far too often, we let them. Talk about insanity!
As for enemies outside our borders, there really are nations that despise us.
After all, we are the major producers of filth and smut, and exporters of same to the rest of the world.
Otherwise, jealousy, envy, and greed cause hatred towards us. Many world players (along with leaders here in America) would like to see America "cut down to size."
So yes, it appears we are falling apart.
Of the dangers we face, the internal ones are the most ominous.
The Culture War is raging, and has perhaps reached a boiling point.
In the simplest of terms, this war can be described as good vs. bad, right vs. wrong.
But correctly, it is God vs. Satan.
This is a war for our individual and collective heart, mind, and soul.
Can America survive?
Honestly, I don't think so. Individuals can still survive. We may be able to salvage a small vestige of society.
The question is whether we are willing to pay the price required, for you see, Repentance is America's only hope.
For months I have been deeply grieved by the state of our nation, and worse, the state of the Church.
Regarding our nation, it is mind-boggling to watch how the duly-elected President of the United States is being thwarted at every turn in his attempts to carry out the will of We the People who elected him.
Media propagandists make it extremely difficult for people to learn truth, which is a major part of their plan.
Sadly, much of the adversity comes from people in the Republican Party – other representatives elected to do the will of We the People.
What I am sensing is that there is absolutely no hope for a government of, by, and for the people, as described by President Abraham Lincoln.
That government is gone...replaced by self-serving, sold-out puppets of an evil cabal
set to usher us into the hands of the coming one-world leader.
I believe, as do many Bible teachers, that President Trump is being used by God to buy America a little more time in which the Church can get its act together and focus on reclaiming America, and so individual Christians can "get right" with God.
As for the Church, I have been particularly grieved.
This has led me into deep study and prayer.
My studies took me to no-nonsense ministers from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Surprisingly, these men of old had the same concerns shared by many of us today. From at least the 1700's, there was concern about a watered-down Gospel, and the Church being changed by culture, instead of us changing it. But then, the Bible tells us this not only will happen, but will worsen.

For clarity, please know that when I refer to the Church, this means all those who have made Jesus our Lord and Savior. Obviously the Church is broken up into thousands of small groups or congregations throughout the land.
This is where much of the problem exists, for within every congregation there is a pastor and others in church leadership, who dictate what is being taught to the people.
Sadly, a majority of Christians rely on these leaders for their biblical instruction.
If said leaders are true, humble, honest men of God, they will provide truthful, Holy Spirit-led instruction, and also strongly urge parishioners to read and study the Bible for themselves – to become like the Bereans who searched the Scriptures daily to see if the things they were being taught were true. (Acts 17:11)
Have we become lazy and complacent?
Perhaps if more self-professing Christians were like the Bereans, there would be less error taught in our churches.
Perhaps we would actually obey God, and not be just hearers of the Word, but doers of the Word as well. (Jas. 1:22)
Instead, many pastors and teachers preach "fluffy, puffy" messages meant to "tickle the ears" of the listener.
The Bible says,
"For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear." (2 Tim. 4:3 NLT)
Have pastors and teachers intentionally watered-down the Word to insure the pews are filled, or have the people rejected God's Truth for messages to assuage their consciences?
I suggest it is both of these.
Regardless of our current condition, God's Word says it is our fault, as do the sage ministers from the past.
So many misguided professing Christians think God will just erase all our mistakes with a "no harm, no foul" gesture, and allow us to continue going our own way and doing our own thing – kind of like the Israelites of Old Testament days.
However, Scripture teaches that God will not tolerate our rebellion forever. We are warned,
"But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God's righteous judgment will be revealed." (Rom. 2:5 NLT)

Does God want to judge America?
Probably not.
Yet, as the above scripture says, He will judge us if we don't turn from our wicked ways.
Repentance is America's only hope! To anyone willing to hear....

NEW 'CHRISTIAN MANIFESTO' ON SEX IS … RACIST?

THE NASHVILLE STATEMENT

NEW 'CHRISTIAN MANIFESTO' ON SEX IS … RACIST?

Michael Brown question ex-evangelical tying biblical guide to Charlottesville mayhem

What connection is there between the tragic events in Charlottesville and the release of an evangelical Christian statement on human sexuality? Absolutely none.
That is, unless you are former evangelical Jen Hatmaker, in which case there is now a connection between white supremacists and biblically based sexual values. What on earth was she thinking?
The statement in question, issued in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday, was described by Pastor John Piper as a “Christian manifesto” on human sexuality.
He said, “It speaks with forthright clarity, biblical conviction, gospel compassion, cultural relevance and practical helpfulness. It will prove to be, I believe, enormously helpful for thousands of pastors and leaders hoping to give wise, biblical and gracious guidance to their people.”
From a biblical perspective, there is nothing controversial in the Nashville Statement, as it affirms sexual norms that have been taught by the Church for the last two millennia, including marriage being the union of one man and one woman.
From the perspective of LGBT activists and their allies, the statement has been branded “an affront to God’s creative design,” a theology that “breeds death.”
But this is the expected LGBT reaction to the clear testimony of Scripture,
as God’s principles of life and freedom are branded a theology of death and bondage.
That reaction shouldn’t surprise us at all, although it is tragic and painful to read. Nor should part of Jen Hatmaker’s response surprise us, given her abandonment of evangelical Christian values.
She tweeted, “If the fruit of doctrine regularly & consistently creates shame, self-harm, suicide, & broken hearts, families, & churches, we should listen.”
This, again, is a typical, LGBT-related response that buys into the lie that the biblical teaching on homosexuality and trangenderism is destructive and harmful.
In reality, the Gospel brings deliverance from shame, self-harm and suicide, bringing families and churches together,
and it is the rejection of God’s life-giving ways that leads to depression and hopelessness and destruction.
For Hatmaker, however, the reverse is true, as she tweeted,
“The fruit of the ‘Nashville Statement’ is suffering, rejection, shame, and despair,” adding, “The timing is callous beyond words.”
The timing? What was she talking about?
As USA Today explains, “Christian author Jen Hatmaker of Austin, Texas, who came out in favor of same-sex marriage
and whose books have been removed from the Southern Baptist Convention’s LifeWay Christian Stores because of that philosophy,
called the timing of the statement callous because of the Aug. 12 Unite the Right white supremacists’ rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, and protester Heather Heyer’s death.”
This is utterly baffling and indicates, sadly, how far left Hatmaker has shifted.
What connection do neo-Nazis, the KKK and white supremacists have with an evangelical statement on biblical sexuality?
Absolutely none.
What does the tragic death of Heather Heyer have to do with Christian leaders reaffirming that marriage is the lifelong union of one man and one woman?
Nothing whatsoever.
Rather, the spirit of the Nashville Statement is summed up by Southern Baptist leader Russell Moore, who noted,
“The sexual revolution cannot keep its promises, and the church must stand ready to receive with compassion the many who are in need of a better hope.
The Nashville Statement is part of that mission, and my prayer is that it will help anchor churches and Christians to the Gospel of Jesus Christ for years to come.”
What does this have to do with the now infamous, “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville?
Absolutely nothing at all.
Unless, of course, you use the following “logic”:
1) Donald Trump was elected by appealing to the worst elements of the racist alt-right;
2) evangelical Christians also voted for Trump and are therefore part of the alt-right;
3) evangelical Christians penned and signed the Nashville Statement;
4) the statement is therefore related directly Charlottesville.
As incredible as that “logic” sounds, it’s the only way I can understand Hatmaker’s thinking, and it’s further proof of a tragic and dangerous pattern:
Once you replace biblical standards with LGBT theology, you soon embrace the mindset of the radical left.
The very sad fall of Jen Hatmaker, for whom we pray, is a striking illustration of the power of spiritual deception.
Once you embrace the first lie, it’s much easier to embrace the other lies, which get bigger and uglier by the day.
May God awaken those deceived by LGBT theology, and may He strengthen those who are taking a stand for biblical truth.

My comments: Christians should understand that the LEFT is attempting to make, that which is Against God and His Word, acceptable to American Culture. Since they run America's Public Schools, Higher Education and on and on, they have virtually, already accomplished this Goal. If they achieve their Goal, it will mean the Death of America before the Living God.

WHY RIGHT IS RIGHT AND LEFT IS, WELL …

BETWEEN THE LINES

WHY RIGHT IS RIGHT AND LEFT IS, WELL ...

Exclusive: Joseph Farah explains intriguing layout of your computer keyboard

I’ve gotten some good feedback on my definitions of the “alt-left” term I apparently invented a year ago yesterday.
One correspondent told me: “Your term ‘alt-left’ is expressive – there are many alternative ways to describe the evil of being not right.
Whereas the term ‘alt-right’ is an oxymoron, a contradiction in terms, a lie – as there is only one right, and the alternative is always wrong.
Meanwhile, the term ‘right’ as used by God applies to those who are in right relationship with Him by being in the process of continuously receiving the exceedingly good and great Gift of Righteousness (Romans 5:17).
All who are not in that process of walking the narrow way (Matthew 7:13-14) are not ‘alt-right’; they are wrong, fatally and eternally wrong if they do not repent (Romans 11:22-23).”
Thought-provoking. And right.
I knew there was something that bothered me about the term “alt-right,” the very first time I heard it, which, you might remember, was from a conversation with a New York Times reporter determined to define it negatively and pin it on Donald Trump.
It had a visceral repulsion to me.
Why would anyone want to refer to himself or herself as “alt-right”? I’d never heard anyone use the term as ideologically self-descriptive. I instinctively knew it was coming from another direction. It turns out, the plan all along was to invent the term, define it in a hideous context – embracing white supremacy and fascism – and then use it against the enemies of the left and Hillary Clinton.
I’m convinced members of the press were easily lured into the final part of that equation – somewhat successfully, I might add.
Honestly, the right has never been associated with white supremacy or fascism.
In America, only the Democratic Party of the two that remain was associated from the earliest days with white supremacy, a legacy the key cultural institutions – the schools, academia, the press and the entertainment industry – have aided the Dems in overcoming.
The Republican Party was birthed to fight slavery, white supremacy and all unequal treatment of people based on their race. Some of its most active adherents paid a big price for their fervor, getting lynched, beaten and tortured for their efforts.
Fascism is a socialist concept – a Big Government, control-and-command ideology – while the right is about limited government, the rule of law rather than the rule of men, individual responsibility and personal freedom.
Now here’s another thought on this subject.
Take a look at your computer keyboard. Look to the bottom rung of keys and over to the left.
What do you see?
If you have a Microsoft keyboard, you probably see to the extreme left bottom an abbreviation for the word “control.” “Control” on any true ideological spectrum is on the left – be it communist, socialist, fascist.
They are all left-wing ideas, and they all demand strict government control. That’s the common denominator, even though socialists have disputes with communists and communists have disputes with fascists. The common denominator is they are all of the left.
btl170830
If you look past through that Microsoft flag next to the control key you will see the world “alt.” Both keys are neatly positioned on the left side of the keyboard and, ironically, on the bottom rung.
(If you have, as I do, an Apple keyboard, the “alt” key is appropriately called “command.”
So, one keyboard juxtaposes control and “alt,” and the other juxtaposes control and command.
What does that suggest? Maybe I misnamed the “alt-left.” Maybe a more accurate and comprehensible moniker would be “ctrl-left.”
Because, ultimately, that is what the left is all about – control.
Just a thought. Any significance?

N. KOREA: U.S. SECURITY LOST FOR WANT OF A BACKBONE

NUCLEAR WAR-FEAR

N. KOREA: U.S. SECURITY LOST FOR WANT OF A BACKBONE

Exclusive: Lt. Col. James Zumwalt ties Iran, Hezbollah into Pyongyang equation

Lyrics from a 14th century nursery rhyme encouraged children to apply the art of logical progression to the consequences of their actions or inactions. It needs be heeded today in dealing with the North Korea nuclear threat.
“For Want of a Nail” is a journey down the road of causal connection:
For want of a (horseshoe) nail, the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost.
For want of a horse, the rider was lost.
For want of a rider, the message was lost.
For want of the message, the battle was lost.
For want of the battle, the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
As President Donald Trump and North Korea’s “Incredible Bulk” leader, Kim Jong-un, exchange nuclear threats, we hear a chorus of experts who, out of frustration, suggest our inability to prevent Pyongyang from obtaining a nuclear arsenal should focus our efforts instead upon deterring it from using such weapons.
The most recent high-profile voice making this case is President Barack Obama’s former national security adviser, Susan Rice.
Acknowledging that Obama’s North Korea foreign policy was a failure – as well as that of his two predecessors – Rice urges Trump, in a New York Times op-ed, to tolerate Pyongyang’s violation of international promises and regulations “the same way we tolerated the far greater threat of thousands of Soviet nuclear weapons during the Cold War.”
Rice’s ostrich-like, head-in-the-sand mentality explains why much of Obama’s foreign policy was a failure. The Obama-Rice team was simply unable to apply logical progression to its end point.
Rice’s op-ed contains fatal flaws that can prove lethal to our security if followed by Trump.
First, she suggests yet another diplomatic initiative be undertaken to convince the North Koreans their best interests are served by not using such weapons.
Rice seems to ignore the fact all previous negotiations with Pyongyang have failed – only being used by its leadership to lull the West into a false sense of security as its nuclear and missile programs advanced.
As John Bolton pointed out in his own op-ed, “North Korea has always been willing to promise to abandon its nuclear ambitions to get tangible economic benefits. It just never gets around to honoring its commitments.”
Another experienced diplomat, Fred Ikle, has described diplomacy with the North Koreans as “boundless mendacity.”
Thus, it should be abundantly clear to any North Korea expert that diplomacy with the rogue nation is meaningless.
Second, Rice advises putting the focus on deterring Pyongyang from using its nuclear arsenal. But that should not be our main concern. In that regard, Rice’s assertion the Soviets posed a “far greater threat” is frighteningly naive.
The most important priority for Kim Jong-un, just like any despotic ruler, clearly is self-preservation. Suffering a retaliatory strike by initiating a nuclear attack against the U.S. would not play into that theme.
The Soviets realized this, allowing us to survive a Cold War in which large nuclear arsenals were tolerated. The Soviets understood, as Kim does today, the concept of Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) leaves devastation on both sides, albeit total in North Korea.
Therefore, while it is reasonable to assume North Korea would not initiate a nuclear conflict, the logical progression of a nuclear-armed Pyongyang must be taken a step further. Doing so recognizes Kim will not hesitate to sell nukes to countries willing to use them – like Iran.
Tehran has worked closely with Pyongyang to take advantage of its nuclear and missile research and development. The two have been so closely involved that North Korean expert Ryan Mauro recently observed, if Pyongyang has mini-nukes, then so too does Tehran.
The Obama-Rice team knew of this relationship, yet turned a blind eye to it. Never demanded by Obama in the 2015 nuclear deal negotiated with Iran was that any continuing R&D relationship with North Korea violated the entire intent of the deal.
The bottom line concerning Rice’s advice is that she fails to grasp, while MAD deters North Korea, it does not deter Iran.
Key is Tehran’s eschatological belief that global chaos is necessary to trigger the return of the Mahdi, who will lead Islam to world domination. Obviously, the best way to achieve such chaos is a nuclear strike. Thus Iran’s religious leaders are unfazed by any retaliatory action so triggered.
There are various ways Iran could effect this strike. While Tehran may currently lack missile delivery accuracy and range, one option is enlisting the terrorist group Hezbollah to do its dirty work.
Ever since 2006, Hezbollah, with Iran’s help, has been developing a South American presence. This initially was done in Venezuela, courtesy of the late dictator Hugo Chavez.
Since then, Hezbollah has developed a relationship with drug cartels, allowing it to access our borders.
Additionally, it now has a missile base in Venezuela – a presence never challenged by the Obama-Rice team. Thus, either a shorter-range missile fired from Venezuela or a suicide bomber sneaking a nuclear device across our borders could facilitate such a strike.
It is unconscionable any U.S. leader would examine the North Korean nuclear issue in a vacuum. If we show no backbone in dealing with North Korea, it gives Iran the green light to pave the way for Mahdi’s return.
As to U.S. inaction, the following logical progression must be considered:
For want of a U.S. backbone, prevention of North Korean nuclear proliferation was lost.
For want of preventing such proliferation, deterring Pyongyang from selling mini-nukes to Iran was lost.
For want of precluding the sale of mini-nukes to Iran, Iran’s so arming Hezbollah was lost.
For want of preventing a nuclear-armed Hezbollah, U.S. national security was lost.
And all for the want of a backbone.
The “For Want of a Nail” lesson of logical progression has been around for centuries. Benjamin Franklin believed it important enough to include in his 1732 publication of “Poor Richard’s Almanack.”Hopefully, it will not be lost upon President Trump.

TRUMP FREES BIZ OWNERS FROM OBAMA DIVERSITY MADNESS

WND EXCLUSIVE

TRUMP FREES BIZ OWNERS FROM OBAMA DIVERSITY MADNESS

President moves, again, to fulfill campaign promise by helping U.S. economy

Joe Wilson
President Trump, who campaigned on building America’s businesses and making the country “great again,” talked again on Wednesday about bringing millions of jobs and trillions of dollars back to U.S. shores.
But Trump is not, his critics are discovering, just talk.
His campaign to reduce the demands on business from federal regulations took another leap forward with his decision to free owners from the requirement of putting check marks in thousands of “diversity” boxes on Obama administration-era paperwork.
A total of 3,660 boxes, to be exact.
The boxes needed to be checked or filled out on the EEO-1 reporting form, which the Office of Management and Budget stopped implementing on Aug. 29, according to the Washington Examiner.
The EEO-1 form, required by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, was intended by Obama to “collect and report pay data by race, ethnicity, and gender, from businesses with 100 employees or more [and create] a better picture of the data will also help us in enforcing existing equal pay laws.”
The form required businesses with more than 100 employees or federal contractors with more than 50 employees to report the pay data for each worker.
The details had to be organized by race and gender and was to be used politically to address the “wage gap” Obama claimed was hurting women and people of color.
However, the form quickly became a headache for American businesses, costing more than $400 million in red tape and countless hours making sure every requirement was met.
Critics of the regulation questioned whether it would make any difference. One of the critics was Ivanka Trump, who said “while I believe the intention was good and agree that pay transparency is important, the proposed policy would not yield the intended results,” according to the Examiner.
Trump is eliminating 16 rules for every new one he proposes, allowing businesses to spend their resources on growth, rather than on compliance with federal regulation.
Some of the regulations Trump has cut include Obama’s heavy restrictions on the coal industry, rules keeping ranchers and farmers from using public land and rules for logging workplace injuries.
Former Republican Sen. Tom Coburn, author of “Smashing the DC Monopoly: Using Article V to Restore Freedom and Stop Runaway Government” and vocal opponent of government overreach during his time in the Senate, approves of Trump’s efforts to roll back federal regulations.
Trump’s efforts so far have been “good,” but we still need “a lot more,” he told WND.
He said that Obama’s heavy regulatory burden’s effect on the economy was “significant in [hurting the economy’s] health; tremendous in undermining rule of law.”
He also believes that the nation needs to cut back the number of federal bureaucrats governing regulations by “about one third in numbers.”
We also need to “eliminate unionization of federal workforce,” Coburn said.
“The results have been tremendous inefficiencies and uncontrolled federal regulatory costs. You can easily eliminate $900 billion per year,” he said, adding that “the average federal worker makes twice the median salary of Americans plus far better benefits.”

FRANKLIN GRAHAM GOES ON OFFENSE OVER LEFTISTS' 'HATE' LABELS

Rev. Franklin Graham

WND EXCLUSIVE

FRANKLIN GRAHAM GOES ON OFFENSE OVER LEFTISTS' 'HATE' LABELS

'Who is the real hate group here?'

Bob Unruh
Franklin Graham, the chief of both Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association ministries, counselor to presidents and powerful advocate for Christian activism,
has issued a verbal takedown of the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center’s attacks on innocuous ministries as “hate” groups.
“A hate group? Can you believe this – the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., has labeled a number of Christian groups such as D. James Kennedy Ministries, and the Family Research Council run by my good friend Tony Perkins as ‘hate’ groups. Why?” he wrote on a Facebook post.
“Simply because they hold to the teaching of God’s Word on moral issues such as homosexuality and same-sex marriage.
“They even speak disparagingly against Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a woman who was born into a Muslim family in Somalia and bravely speaks out against the dangers and oppression of women in Islam,” Graham marveled. “Because she dares to speak against what Islam has done to her and other women, she is being accused of hate speech! Incredible.
“As Kimberley Strassel said in the The Wall Street Journal, ‘If the SPLC doesn’t agree with your views, it tags you as a hater.’ The SPLC has the funding of Apple CEO Tim Cook and financial giant J.P. Morgan, and is a media favorite. Who is the real hate group here?” Graham asked.
The issue is the SPLC’s open verbal and printed assaults against a lot of traditional Christian organizations in America – when it places them on its “hate” map.
Those actions appear already to have played a role in two attempts at mass murder in America:
In June, SPLC supporter James Hodgkinson shot Rep. Steve Scalise., R-La.; Zach Barth, a staff member for Congressman Roger Williams; former congressional staff member Matt Mika; and two U.S. Capitol Police officers at a Republican congressional members practice for a charity baseball game just months ago.
SPLC had demonized Scalise for promoting white supremacy and clearly tried to infer “that Rep. Scalise is a so-called ‘hater.'”
Hodgkinson had “liked” SPLC’s Facebook page.
SPLC also was linked to domestic terror through Floyd Lee Corkins, who cited SPLC as his inspiration for his going to the Washington offices of the Family Research Council, armed with a gun, intending to kill as many people as he could. He was stopped by a security guard, who was injured.
WND reported a video showed Corkins entering the FRC offices and confronting Leo Johnson.
Security footage_ Hero thwarts terrorist shooter at Family R.mp4
The SPLC has demonized many who decline to adopt its agenda of promoting homosexuality, open borders and same-sex “marriage.”
It even slapped its “hater” label on former GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, until a backlash on social media forced it to remove him, all because he supports traditional marriage.
It also backed down in another situation just this week. According to Liberty Counsel, the SPLC “admitted its fault and removed a town from its ‘Hate Map’ …
That map irresponsibly mixes religious organizations with violent hate groups, and this time it included the town of Amana because an unknown source alleged some people who might have been associated with The Daily Stormer met one time in a restaurant for coffee. This is one of many inaccuracies and gross over-characterizations that can be found on SPLC’s map.
“Amana, an innocent town, was then blacklisted by the SPLC. People living there were brought under a cloud a suspicion because of the improper, sweeping accusation of the SPLC.
The SPLC makes wide generalizations and then seeks to harm those within its self-proclaimed classification of others.
In a similar manner, the SPLC targets anyone who disagrees with them on issues related to the LGBT agenda.
Then it claims civil disagreement as ‘evidence’ for falsely classifying a peaceful organization as ‘hateful.’ To do so is just as wrong and even more harmful than the SPLC’s mischaracterization of the city of Amana.”
Liberty Counsel also has been characterized as a “hater” by the SPLC.
“As a pastor, before becoming an attorney, my heart then and now is for hurting people,” said Mat Staver, founder. “Liberty Counsel exists to help other people. Right now, we are focusing resources on helping victims of Harvey. We believe that every person is created in the image of God and should be treated with dignity and respect. We are putting those beliefs into action in Texas.
This is hardly the action of a hate group! If the SPLC were intellectually honest, it should re-title its ‘Hate Map’ into ‘Groups We Hate Map,'” said Staver.
The organization reported the SPLC also has gotten into trouble with the Disciplinary Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Justice, under President Obama.
Its lawyers were sharply rebuked and reprimanded for employing the SPLC’s “hate group” label to dismiss a conservative advocacy group.
It stated that using the SPLC’s map “overstepped the bounds of zealous advocacy and was unprofessional.” It continued that such behavior is “uncivil” and “constitutes frivolous behavior and does not aid the administration of justice.”
Just a day earlier, talk radio superstar Rush Limbaugh pointed out the SPLC’s failings.
He said, “The Southern Poverty Law Center is perhaps one of the biggest hate groups on the left. They tar and feather and slander right-wing groups and call them hate groups,” he said. “They’ve got a map on their website, and whenever a right-wing group that says or does anything that the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is a bunch of leftist freaks, all you have to do is disagree with them and you are called a hater.”
Criticizing support from companies such as Apple and JPMorgan Chase, he described SPLC’s agenda.
“For example, if they support gay marriage and LGBT and all these other things and you happen to disagree with it, you are the hater. You hate. You are a hate-filled person that is bordering on the use of violence. And that’s how they characterize these groups, and it led to a deranged leftist walking into the office of the Family Research Council and actually shooting at somebody. It’s what contributes to this deranged guy shooting up Republicans at a baseball practice in Virginia,” he said.
“The Southern Poverty Law Center and other left-wing groups actually inspire their dope members to violence while claiming that the right-wing groups that they’re identifying – and they point ’em out on a map. They identify where these groups’ headquarters are on a map, and their deranged supporters end up there, protesting and so forth,” Limbaugh went on.
He warned the CEOs of companies such as Apple not to treat the SPLC “as one of the most worthwhile, fair, enduring organizations devoted to equality and fairness.”
“That’s the last thing they’re devoted to,” he said. “These are the people that want to shut you up if you say something they disagree with. You don’t even have to be saying it about them.
“Basically all you have to do is be a prominent conservative or run a prominent conservative 501(c)(3) fundraising organization.
If your conservative group raises money, then the Southern Poverty Law Center is out to destroy you. So I asked the question: Do these CEOs not know this? And it was a legitimate question because if all they do, if their total source of information happens to be CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and maybe the Washington Post, it is entirely possibly they don’t know the truth about the Southern Poverty Law Center.”
The National Center for Life and Liberty recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of D. James Kennedy Ministries against the SPLC and others.
Citing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the suit charges religious discrimination by “trafficking in false or misleading descriptions of the services offered under the ministry’s trademarked name; and for defamation pursuant to Alabama common law arising from the publication and distribution of information that libels the ministry’s reputation and subjects the ministry to disgrace, ridicule, odium, and contempt in the estimation of the public.”
It was filed in federal court in Montgomery, Alabama, scene of some of the nation’s most ferocious civil rights battles.
The case alleges that the defendants – online retailer Amazon, online charity reporting company GuideStar and SPLC – damaged the ministries by creating, publishing and promoting SPLC’s infamous “hate” designations.
The hate designations already had prompted a lawsuit by Liberty Counsel against Guidestar. And several organizations, including the Alliance Defending Freedom, have demanded broadcasters retract reports quoting SPLC’s hate designations.
The newest case seeks an award for “special harms from the SPLC” over the groups’ rejection by the AmazonSmile program due to the hate designations.
Related column: What is ‘hate’ and who defines it? The SPLC? by Jerry Newcombe
WND reported last month when SPLC’s president, Richard Cohen, defended his group’s attacks on Christians.
He wrote in a Huffington Post commentary that Christians deserve the designation because they “sow the seeds of hate” for, among other things, adhering to a biblical perspective on homosexuality.
But the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability warned GuideStar its use of false SPLC claims to undermine Christian organizations was damaging its credibility.
Paul Bedard documented in his Washington Secrets column that some of the groups targeted by SPLC now are unleashing a public counteroffensive, accusing the organization of “fueling hate, killing free speech and even encouraging terrorist-style attacks on those it doesn’t agree with.”
