The new “tolerance” |
Christian,
Our culture demands “tolerance” above all.
But this tolerance, as it is defined today, is anything but openness to opposing viewpoints. Instead, today’s call to “tolerance” is really a call to not only accept—but to celebrate—the morally objectionable decisions of others.
As Christians, we are often accused of intolerance merely for holding to foundational Christian truths and doctrines—especially the belief that Jesus is the only way to God. How can we respond to the charge of intolerance?
In his book Demanding “Tolerance:” Losing our Freedom to Disagree, author John Aman provides a helpful guide to the new “tolerance,” including common arguments against Christian beliefs and how we can respond to these arguments with grace and truth.
Demanding Tolerance answers questions like:
- Who says your version of the truth is superior to everyone else’s?
- Why does the Bible condemn homosexuality when science has shown that some people are born with same-sex attractions?
- If Jesus never said a word about abortion, why do Christians make it such a big issue?
- Isn’t it arrogant and intolerant to say that Jesus is the only way to God?
- And many more.
Aman provides Biblical answers to these tough questions. In a world where the new “tolerance” reigns supreme, we must be prepared to answer those who call our Christian beliefs outdated and intolerant.
We’d love to offer you this book as our thanks for your generous donation.
We are confident that this book will equip you to “make a defense to anyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is within you,” as 1 Peter 3:15 commands us.
Thank you for your support as we seek to proclaim the Word of God boldly!
Sincerely,
Frank Wright, Ph.D. President and CEO D. James Kennedy Ministries |
