TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
|

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1–2). |

DAILY FIRE!

Jesus is in charge of my life, and He is with me always. In the miracle story from Matthew 14, it was Christ Himself who put the disciples where they were. He made the disciples get into the boat, and go on ahead of Him to the other side.
"Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary" (Matthew 14:22–24).
The boat was buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. So troubles may arise when we are (or even because we are) doing God’s explicit will; but we must give God time and let Him work all things together for good. That is true for you and me.
Jesus, in fact, was in charge. He had seen them struggling out on the Sea of Galilee while He was up on the hillside. Do not worry: the Lord has good eyesight! God does not guarantee us permanently calm seas or prosperous voyages. Even Paul was shipwrecked three times. The disciples were fighting the elements in one of those lumbering boats of their day, for the very reason that that was where God wanted them! Many people feel disillusioned about this very thing. They do what is right yet suffer for it. But we need not worry. The trouble that comes when God puts us where He wants us is a miracle in the making! The stormy winds of Galilee were the first component of a wonder for Peter and his companions.
