CONGRESS NEEDS TO IMPEACH THIS JUDGE!

BETWEEN THE LINES

CONGRESS NEEDS TO IMPEACH THIS JUDGE!

Exclusive: Joseph Farah flays Obama appointee who censored videos on WND

I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of unaccountable federal judges overruling lawful executive orders by the president of the United States.
I’m also sick and tired of unaccountable federal judges overruling the First Amendment!
Let me name names: U.S. District Judge William Orrick.
I’ll tell you all you need to know about this judge if you bear with me, but first let me begin with my personal anecdote.
On Friday, I got an email from WND’s video provider saying they were in receipt of a court order from Orrick demanding they remove certain content from circulation because of complaints from abortion providers. This included a big one on the front page of WND shot covertly at an abortion conference where representatives of Planned Parenthood and other abortionists openly talked about their gruesome gory procedures with delight.
We got no prior notice from the video provider. They got a court order, and the videos were deactivated.
It took hours to get them re-activated late Friday afternoon. By then Orrick’s attack on the First Amendment had served its purpose – millions were denied the ability to see for themselves what went on publicly at an abortion conference.
This is the same judge who earlier blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order to cut funding from sanctuary cities.
In other words, not only does this judge believe he can overrule the president, he also believes he can overrule the Constitution’s First Amendment rights of the free press.
To say these are outrageous examples of abuse of authority is an understatement.
Now, by the way, Orrick is considering a contempt sanction against the leader of an anti-abortion group and two of his attorneys for allegedly violating an injunction that barred the release of videos. Keep in mind, these are peaceful, pro-life activists who simply want to show the reality of what takes place in abortion conferences when these abortion zealots let their hair down.
There’s a term for this and what the judge did with WND’s content. It’s called prior restraint. It’s against the law. It defies the Constitution and American judicial tradition.
And that’s why it’s time for the Congress of the United States to take action against one of these left-wing political activists masquerading as all-powerful, objective federal judges committed to impartial readings of the law.
Here’s the astonishing record of William Horsley Orrick III.
It almost goes without saying he was a Barack Obama appointee. But he may have bought that appointment by raising $200,000 for the Obama campaign and personally donating $30,000 to committees supporting the campaign. After those lavish donations, in 2013, Orrick was appointed by Obama and confirmed by the Senate to the same seat his father, Judge William Orrick Jr., held from 1974 to 2003. In other words, it was his turn to inherit this lifetime job.
Did you think American justice had become this corrupt?
With his sanctuary cities ruling, he was encouraging cities not to enforce laws they don’t like and to willfully impede federal investigations of immigration violations.
Let’s call Orrick what he clearly is: A Democratic campaign bundler and political activist who bought his gavel. When his confirmation vote came up, most Republicans in the Senate knew this fact to be true. Only Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, voted to approve him.
This is why I am calling on members of the House of Representatives to make an example out of Orrick and sponsor a bill of impeachment against him. It may not go anywhere – even in the Republican House. It surely won’t result in a conviction for abuse of authority as long as disgraces like Flake, Murkowski and Collins remain in the U.S. Senate.
But it’s time to take the fight to phonies like Orrick who make a mockery of our judicial system.
Do you agree?
