The timing of the release, April 1st, would lead many to assume the episode was merely a bad April Fool's Day joke, however this does not appear to be the case.

Official Palestinian Authority TV instructed male viewers who "use beatings and violence to solve their marital problems," to do so in accordance with the Quran.
Palestinian Authority TV, on Saturday, aired an episode of the series Talk of the Land in which a female reporter instructed the audience to obey Quranic rules for beating wives, Palestinian Media Watch reported Thursday.
