Through faith in Christ I can do the impossible to the glory of God! Jacob—The grandson of Abraham. At first, Jacob did not even claim that he belonged to God. Then came a night when God wrestled with him, and Jacob experienced a breakthrough. It changed him so much that God changed his name to Israel.
Gideon—A young, frustrated son of the local chief who rose literally overnight to be a national leader. He began with very shaky faith, even complaining about God. God nurtured Gideon’s faith. He faced an invading army five hundred times bigger than his, unarmed, and “turned to flight the armies of the aliens” (Hebrews 11:34)—a classic operation of faith.
