When speaking about the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures repeatedly use the word rivers. This ideal for believers—rivers of the Holy Spirit—was anticipated by Isaiah: “You shall be like…a spring of water, whose waters do not fail” (Isaiah 58:11). For many people in our reserved Western culture, exuberance is embarrassing. For those who stand within the kingdom of God, however, this matters little—they shout for joy!
