SCHOOL STAFFER ACCUSED OF REPEATEDLY RAPING BOY
Special-needs aide allegedly used candy, murder threats
(BOSTON HERALD) — A special needs paraprofessional accused of using candy and murder threats to repeatedly rape a disabled Malden High School teen was allowed to go free without bail or GPS monitoring after his arraignment yesterday.
Steven James MacDonald, 46, accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy he was entrusted to assist with toileting, pleaded not guilty to rape, indecent assault and battery on a disabled person and assault with intent to commit rape.
Assistant Middlesex District Attorney Courtney Linnehan made no argument to hold MacDonald on bail. Middlesex Superior Court Clerk-Magistrate Matthew Day granted Linnehan’s request to release the former Golden Tornadoes assistant football coach on personal recognizance with GPS monitoring.
