BLACK ACTIVIST CALLS BLACK LIVES MATTER 'RADICAL, EVIL'
WND author's judgment: 'They are worse than the KKK'
Jesse Lee Peterson pulled no punches when he was part of an argumentative panel on Megyn Kelly’s “The Kelly File” on The Fox News Channel Monday night.
A diverse group of white and black conservatives and progressives debated the impact of the protest movement Black Lives Matter when the author of “The Antidote” and “Scam: How The Black Leadership Exploits Black America” was chosen to speak.
And Peterson pushed the panel over the edge.
“Black Lives Matter is a racial, radical, evil organization,” he charged, as other participants on the panel started screaming and interrupting.
Undaunted, Peterson continued: “They are worse than the KKK. Black Americans who are suffering are not suffering because of racism. They are suffering because they are growing up without fathers and mothers in the homes.
These kids are being made angry in the home about that. Rather than deal with that anger, they go out into the community and they have people like Jesse Jackson, the NAACP and Barack Obama and others telling them, ‘It’s the white man.’
When you are already angry, it’s hard to believe the truth.”Peterson’s explanation for the ailments plaguing black America come from his extensive experience as the founder and president of the civil rights organization BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny.
With the motto of “rebuilding the family by rebuilding the man,” Peterson focuses on helping black men repair the broken black family, which he identifies as the root problem behind a great deal of social dysfunction.
At the same time, Peterson is scathing in his analysis of Black Lives Matter and so-called “civil rights leaders,” who he accuses of deliberately fomenting racial tension for personal gain.
Peterson’s analysis won praise from some leading conservatives, notably Dana Loesch, who tweeted:
However, many on “The Kelly File” panel were outraged. And there were some fiery remarks from other panelists condemning what they said was a pattern of white racism against black Americans.
One of the loudest voices was Lisa Durden, a political commentator who has often spoken in support of Black Lives Matter. She responded furiously to former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s charge on “Face the Nation” on Sunday that saying black lives matter to the exclusion of all others is “anti-American and it’s racist.”
In answer, Durden claimed black people in America are being targeted by police.
“Everyone wants to deflect when we’re getting blown in the head with bullets, chased down in the streets, choked until we can’t breathe,” she exclaimed.
The divisions exposed on “The Kelly File” are only a reflection of a larger divide between Americans who support Black Lives Matter and an increasing number of citizens who see the controversial protest organization as nothing less than a hate group.
Tomi Lahren of The Blaze said Black Lives Matter is “the new KKK” and alleged “their goals are far from equality” in a now deleted tweet.
In response, David Zurawik of the Baltimore Sun confronted her on CNN and said she had gone “too far.” When Lahren dismissed this simply as “your opinion,” Zurawik exploded.
“No it’s not,” he exclaimed, and made a veiled threat about how she should be fired, saying, “I wish it was your employer’s opinion.”
“That’s really reckless, that kind of tweet at the situation we’re in,” he continued. “As a journalist, what you did appalls me.”
Lahren responded she is not a journalist but a commentator and has the right to her own opinions.
“What those on the other side want to do is criticize, label and silence those who disagree with them,” she argued. “I don’t play that game.”
More than 54,000 people have signed a petition at Change.org calling for Lahren to be fired for “hate speech,” which, the petition says, “will no longer be tolerated.”
The growing political and racial divide exposed by such exchanges, is, in Rev. Peterson’s opinion, an artificial creation. He says Democrats are engaging in “racial arson” to gain a political advantage.
In a recent interview with Breitbart News, Peterson said the left is deliberately lying to black people, trying to keep them angry, powerless and dependent.
“They are told by the so-called civil rights leaders that white people are their problem and the reason they have been told that is because angry people can be controlled,” Peterson explained. “All they have to do now is use one word – racism. And when they use that one word, black Americans go into a kind of hypnotic trance.
And they do whatever these folks want them to do and bring on destruction. And then people like Jesse Jackson come in and say business owners need to give us money and put us in certain positions or we are going to go out there and protest you.”
Peterson slammed President Obama for failing to bridge the racial gap.
“Barack Obama has managed to divide the races more than anybody else in this country,” he charged. “And the way he does it is lie about racism. He wants to change the discussion. He went out there and said the justice system is unfair or wrong toward black Americans. And when he said that, I said, ‘Because Barack Obama told that lie, we’re going to have trouble in the country.’ And then in the next few hours, we had what we had in Dallas.”
Peterson has been a vocal critic of what he calls the “cowardice” of many white Americans when it comes to confronting racial issues. And he said the only way Black Lives Matter can be stopped is if Americans stop caving to political correctness.
“We can stop it, but it’s going to take Americans to start saying no to these people,” he said. “They have been allowed to get away with pushing evil for more than 60 years now. They know that they can do, act and say anything they want and get away with it.
“Once you stand up and say no, we’re not going to tolerate this anymore, it will start to end. But every time you give in to your enemy, it brings out the worst in them. And white Americans have given in to their enemies.”
