According to media reports, there are now 16 Republican Senators who have meet with Garland or have agreed to meet with him. We know some of their names. The list includes: Senators Mark Kirk, Kelly Ayotte, Rob Portman, Susan Collins, Jeff Flake, James Inhofe. Roy Blunt, Pat Toomey and Jerry Moran. Here's the bottom line, the list of betrayers will grow in the coming days and if they meet with Garland, Republicans will eventually agree to hold a vote; and if they hold a vote, they will confirm. Unless you take action, right now, Republicans in the Senate will cave and eventually confirm Merrick Garland, Barack Obama's radical nominee, to the Supreme Court. Mitch McConnell Is Talking The Talk, But If We Do Not Ensure That The Entire GOP Caucus Walks The Walk, All Will Be Lost... By now, we should not have to tell you that what those in the political establishment SAY and what they DO are typically two different things. We do not need to tell you that betrayal by politicians in Washington has become the rule and not the exception these days. Do not allow yourself to be fooled into complacency.... Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was absolutely right when he said "this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President." According to a report in The Hill, the publication of record on Capitol Hill, McConnell's statement is a "signal" of "the GOP's intent to not confirm any nominee offered by President Obama." But the reality is this: McConnell’s statement is not indicative or a "signal" of anything... It is not a matter of IF weak-kneed Republicans in the Senate begin to cave once Obama and Company begin its campaign of manipulation and identity politics, it's a matter of WHEN they will try to cave. Make no mistake... Republicans in the Senate are NOT united in saying they will BLOCK any lame-duck Obama nominee to the Supreme Court... they're NOT united in VOWING to vote down or filibuster an Obama nominee to the Supreme Court... and they’re certainly not united in saying that, come Hell or high water, this vacancy WILL NOT be filled until we have a new President of the United States. As Townhall.com Political Editor Guy Benson warned in a column about why Senate Republicans should block Obama from replacing Justice Scalia, "[S]ome vulnerable Republicans may be antsy over playing hardball here." The time has come for them to take a stand. We need to make sure Senate Republicans are united in not being "antsy" about "playing hardball" with an Obama Supreme Court nominee. And it's up to you and thousands of other patriotic Americans to make our elected officials actually draw a line in the sand right here and right now. McConnell's words are a reason to be optimistic, but we must not allow ourselves to be caught sleeping at the wheel on this one. After all... Didn't Republican leaders tell us that Iran should not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons, and did they not go out of their way to supplant the Constitution and implement legislative shenanigans to give Barack Obama the power to make it happen? Didn't our Republican leaders tell us that Barack Obama's unconstitutional and illegal executive amnesty decree would be stopped and then do nothing once you gave them a clear majority in both Houses of Congress? (By the way, the fate of Obama's amnesty decree is before the Supreme Court this term.) As a matter of fact, how many times, in the recent past, have Congressional Republican leaders told us that something should not happen, only to capitulate to Barack Obama and allow it to happen? We've crossed the Rubicon. Mere words from our Republican leaders are no longer good enough. As far as we're concerned, we're taking McConnell's words to be a promise and we're going to damn well make sure that it is a promise that the entire GOP caucus keeps. But it won't be easy, left-wing organizations are already spending tens of millions of dollars to sway our elected officials to betray you... to intimidate them into submission... to do Barack Obama's bidding... and we're not about to let that happen. Yes, Mitch McConnell is talking the talk, but whether or not weak-kneed Republicans walk the walk is up to you. They need to hear from you right now. Politicians in Washington and the elites in the media assume that people do not think critically... they rely on you to not pay attention to what is actually going on... and they rely upon you to have short memories. And they would love for you to forget that Harry Reid and his Democrat cohorts-in-crime have used every trick and shenanigan in the book to OBSTRUCT Republican presidents from placing nominees on the federal bench for years. Never forget... a decade ago, Reid filibustered scores of George W. Bush's nominees to the federal court. Technically, it was his right under the Constitution and the rules of the Senate, but when then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist considered changing the rules of the Senate to give those nominees an up-or-down vote (which was Frist's prerogative under the Constitution and the rules of the Senate), Dirty Harry cried foul and jumped up and down like a child having a temper tantrum. Frist relented from employing what Harry Reid derisively called the "nuclear option" and many of those well-qualified men and women were never appointed to the federal bench. Now, fast forward to November of 2013. Harry Reid deployed the so-called nuclear option over a paltry three unfit nominees to the federal appellate courts. Yes, we know you're shocked that radical leftists like Harry Reid make up and change the rules as it suits their purposes. And now, leftists are trying to change the rules of the game yet again. Already you're starting to hear the ridiculous notion that it would be a lawless and gross violation of the Constitution if Republicans refuse to rubber-stamp a radical Obama nominee to the Supreme Court. But the Constitution says otherwise. Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution specifically states that the President "shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint...Judges of the Supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States." [Emphasis Ours] Most of us learned about the concept of Checks and Balances in grade school. It was the express intent of our Founding Fathers that the final selection of Supreme Court Justices be shared EQUALLY by the Legislative and Executive branches, and Article II, Section 2 exists because our Founders understood that a man like Barack Obama could one day occupy the Oval Office. But there are a lot of special interests with very deep pockets who will spend millions in the coming days and weeks to convince the American people otherwise. Make no mistake, Barack Obama made this bed for himself. He has defied the courts on countless occasions. He has declared Congress to be irrelevant. He has acted in outright defiance of the law, the Constitution and his Oath of Office far too often. In short, his LAWLESSNESS has effectively DISQUALIFIED him from having any person he may nominate to the High Court confirmed by the Senate. And denying Barack Obama the opportunity to place another left-wing radical on the Supreme Court is not a misplaced PREROGATIVE of our elected officials. IT IS THEIR DUTY, but whether or not they actually exercise their duty is up to you. Use the hyperlink below to each and every Republican Member of the United States Senate. Send My Faxes. Christ Jesus prayed that all those who would believe in Him would be ONE, just as He and the Father are ONE; that they be brought to complete unity so that the world would know that He was sent by the Father. (John 17:20-23)
