'We try': Latest undercover video exposes illicit trade
A Planned Parenthood medical director in Orange County, California, has been caught on a tape released by a team of pro-life activists discussing ways to obtain fully intact aborted babies for a biotech company.
The Center for Medical Progress released its 12th undercover video on the nation's largest abortion provider on Tuesday. Footage of Jennefer Russo opining on efforts to please Da Vinci Biosciences, LLC's desire for a "whole specimen" comes just one day before the U.S. Supreme Court hears a case on abortion regulations.
CMP said it filmed Russo Feb. 27, 2015, while an actor posed as a representative of a fetal tissue procurement company. Russo was asked whether she delivers whole bodies and about using different techniques to increase the probability of success.
"It happens sometimes, but it's pretty rare. But, we try," Russo said. She added that ultrasound-guided methods were also used to turn babies feet-first in the womb, which increases the chance of getting an intact "specimen."
"The fact that a community like Orange County, California, is open for business for baby body parts makes clear the need for law enforcement and elected officials to hold Planned Parenthood accountable,” said David Daleiden, CMP Project Lead, Life Site News reported Tuesday. "And as the Supreme Court prepares to hear a landmark abortion business regulation case, Planned Parenthood's baby parts scheme sends an urgent message about the critical need for states to have strong regulatory authority over the abortion industry."

Daleiden may get his wish. The U.S. Supreme Court will hear Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt on Wednesday. The Texas case pertains to a law requiring doctors performing abortions to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the facility.
"Although Planned Parenthood’s political and PR cronies work overtime to cover-up the revelations of its illicit baby parts trade, Planned Parenthood's interstate criminal scheme to harvest and sell aborted baby parts continues without any transparency or accountability," Daleiden told the website.
Invoices seen by CMP show biotech company Da Vinci charges $350 for fetal liver, $500 for fetal thymus and $750 for fetal brain.

Planned Parenthood responded to CMP's undercover videos by filing a lawsuit against the organization. A Texas grand jury then indicted Daleiden and fellow pro-life filmmaker Sandra Merritt on Jan. 25.
The two face charges of tampering with a governmental record, a felony that carries a punishment of up to 20 years. Daleiden was also charged with a misdemeanor for the alleged purchase and sale of human organs.
"We respect the processes of the Harris County district attorney, and note that buying fetal tissue requires a seller as well. Planned Parenthood still cannot deny the admissions from their leadership about fetal organ sales captured on video for all the world to see," CMP said in response to the indictment.
Radio host Rush Limbaugh said the indictment was the predictable result of a "rogue" prosecutor working with a "pro-abortion" staffer inside his own office. District Attorney Devon Anderson's office has a prosecutor, Lauren Reeder, who served on the board of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast.
"So all that has to happen is that your rogue prosecutor, working in concert with your pro-abortion activist in the DA’s office, get[s] in the grand jury room and start[s] explaining all this to the grand jury, which is made up of your average Hillary voter, for all we know," Limbaugh said Jan. 26, WND reported. "And you start explaining what really went on here. Here we have this great organization, Planned Parenthood, that’s trying to plan families and trying to protect women from the terrible, almost fatal disease of pregnancy, and here come these rogue agents disguised as journalists, but they don’t have immunity, and they're the ones who’ve engaged in criminal activity."
