Franklin Graham: Put God's Voice Back in Politics
The Rev. Franklin Graham is in the midst of a 50-state tour, urging a return of God's voice back into the political process.
"I don't think we're going to make it to another election cycle if we don't get God's voice back in the political arena," the son of legendary evangelist Billy Graham told a crowd of 4,500 in Atlanta on Wednesday, CNN reported.
"I want to get Christians to run for office at every level," Graham said. "The Christian voice needs to be heard."
Graham's "Decision America Tour" has three purposes, according to CNN: a call to prayer; urging people to vote as part of their Christian and civic duty; and getting people to view elections from a spiritual point of view.
Graham called out the problem of sin in America, naming abortion, same-sex marriage, pride, materialism, racism and Hollywood's glorification of sex and violence.
On the Billy Graham website, Franklin Graham writes of the tour, "At 62 years of age, I’ve lived long enough to learn that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans can turn this country around; no political party or politician is the answer. The only hope for this country is Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ."
