COMMISSIONER'S PLEA FOR GOD'S MERCY HAS COUNTY IN UPROAR

Turmoil erupts after proposed resolution condemns court-imposed 'same-sex marriage'

Bob Unruh

It didn’t go so well, according to the Bible, for a couple of cities that allowed, for sure encouraged and probably even celebrated homosexuality.

Remember those references to Sodom and Gomorrah? The biblical discussion of the “detestable” sexual practices, their “sin so grievous?”
And the burning sulfur that rained from the heavens on the unrepentant residents?
Yeah, that’s where the modern word “sodomy” comes from, too.
The online non-denominational Christian ministry GotQuestions explains: “Those who attempt to explain away the biblical condemnations of homosexuality claim that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was inhospitality. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah were certainly being inhospitable. There is probably nothing more inhospitable than homosexual gang rape. But to say God completely destroyed two cities and all their inhabitants for being inhospitable clearly misses the point. While Sodom and Gomorrah were guilty of many other horrendous sins, homosexuality was the reason God poured fiery sulfur on the cities, completely destroying them and all of their inhabitants. To this day, the area where Sodom and Gomorrah were located remains a desolate wasteland.”
Well, one Tennessee county commissioner has her entire community in an uproar now because she has proposed a resolution pleading with Almighty God to spare them for the sin of allowing and promoting “same-sex marriage” through the U.S. Supreme Court’s creation of that status in June.
Even though the county, through its related state government, was forced into the recognition.
The plan from District 4 Commission Karen Miller in Blount County states, “We adopt this resolution before God that he pass us by in His coming wrath and not destroy our county as He did Sodom and Gomorrah…”
It also says, “We adopt this resolution begging His favor in light of the fact that we have been forced to comply and recognize that the state of Tennessee, like so many other God-fearing states, may have fallen prey to a lawless judiciary in legalizing what God and the Bible expressly forbids.”
She had put it on the agenda for a recent meeting, but found herself shut down when other commissioners went to the extraordinary length of refusing to approve their regular meeting agenda in order to prevent the discussion. (They declined to respond to a WND request for comment on the issue.)
They then found a loophole where they could hold a meeting and exclude the discussion, but they had to close down all public comment that normally would be allowed at the beginning and end of the meeting.
Just the idea that the biblical definition of homosexuality would be a commissioners’ topic enraged some pro-homosexual members of the community.
The Daily Times in Maryville published a story featuring a long list of opponents to the move.
“I’m tired of God being used as a battering ram. The Bible, over and over, tells us God is the God of love and grace and mercy,” said Ginny Case, of the United Methodist Church, which allows homosexuality in its ranks.
And Brett Rich, a Blount County resident who has a “husband,” found such efforts to appeal to God “a very sad form of intolerance.”
“We are the same as any other couple and are very proud that our government finally has to recognize our marriage: giving us the same rights as every other Blount County citizen,” he told the newspaper.
See a local report on the fight:\
But the issue isn't going away.
Karen Miller's husband, Keith Miller, in an interview with WND, confirmed that his wife plans to keep introducing it until it is discussed. She has three years left in her term.
Titled "Resolution condemning judicial tyranny and petitioning God's mercy," it notes the affirmation by state and local officials to uphold the Constitution.
"Where, the fulfillment of this oath, in the American tradition, may not be read to contradict the written Constitution, Justice, Reason and higher Natural Law; and Whereas, not all orders claiming authority under color of law are lawful."
It explains unlawful orders "are and remain unlawful, and should be resisted."
Continuing, "Federal judges have once again usurped powers not delegated to them, and have violated Reason, the Rule of Law and Natural Law by purporting to strike down state laws and acts of the people recognizing and protecting natural marriage; and Whereas, the United States Supreme Court is not the sole and final arbiter of the powers of the states under the Ninth and Tenth Amendments, when it acts in an area outside of its jurisdiction."
"As the Passover Lamb was a means of salvation to the ancient children of Israel, so we stand upon the safety of the Lamb of God to save us."
Keith Miller, responding to questions from WND, released a statement that he said his wife had approved.
He said it's obvious that many in the media don't understand some of Christianity's basics, such as the inerrancy of the Bible, that Jesus is God, that he died on the cross as payment for sins so that man might be saved from God's "wrath."
Then there is Christ's resurrection, and the prophecy of His eventual return to earth.
"God gave my wife the victory in her election to the Blount County Commission last year," he said. "God gave both of us a burden for doing what we can to restore the Godly foundation of this country. We both believe that the place to start that turnaround is locally and then go nationally. My view is that the center of the destruction of the country's foundations are the twin sisters from Hell, abortion and homosexual perversion."
He said it's not chance that the Planned Parenthood videos scandal erupted about the same time as the Supreme Court marriage ruling.
"The time was, and still is, right for such a push-back as the Judicial Tyranny/Wrath resolution and the pleading for God's mercy contained in the resolution makes perfect sense. I was shocked and outraged at the way 10 members of the Blount County Commission used political trickery to prevent the resolution from being considered," he said.
Keith Miller said there already is a team of ministers in the county in support of the resolution, and he is meeting with more in coming days.
"My key objective in this fight has been, and will continue to be, to draw preachers, specifically, into aggressive leadership roles in local Christian self-government. I believe the place of local and national moral leadership is not the court house, the statehouse or the White House. The place of moral leadership in media, government, and education in America is the pulpit of the local church."

My comments: The Commissioner is Right to plead to God Almighty for Mercy, but unless the SCOTUS ruling on Same-Sex Marriage is reversed, the Nation, and everyone who accepts this Ruling, will receive the Judgment of God. The Ruling is in Direct Defiance of God and His Word. It opens the door to all manner of Sin and Debauchery, giving Permission, by the highest court in the land to SIN! SIN always leads to more and greater SIN, and this is what is happening in America today. The Two Sisters from Hell, Abortion and Homosexuality will now take America to her RUIN!
