WHY A MUSLIM PRESIDENT IS UNTHINKABLE

Exclusive: Joseph Farah points out Dr. Carson 'actually says what he believes'

Dr. Ben Carson is getting a lot of heat for saying he wouldn’t support a Muslim for president.

He deserves a medal for his courage, his honesty and his common sense.

Islam is not just a religious faith, like Catholicism or Judaism.

It’s a way of life that guides every aspect of a true believer’s values and actions – political, legal, economic.

For those Muslims who take their faith seriously, their commitment to the Quranic tenets comes first, even when it conflicts with the U.S. Constitution, which it does frequently. For instance, in Islam forced conversions are not just acceptable but appropriate. Not so for Jews and Christians. Lying for the purpose of furthering the strategic goal of advancing the spread of Islam is not only acceptable but appropriate. Not so for Christians and Jews. Subjugation of women is not only acceptable but appropriate. Not so for Christians and Jews.

To be a devout Muslim means one thing – to spread Islam to world domination by any means necessary.

That is not the case with Jews and Christians.

I could go on and on with the differences.

These are but a few.

That’s not to say there are no good Muslims, people who would be fine neighbors, excellent co-workers, nice friends.

Islam dominated the world for 1,200 years – conquering more territory globally and hanging on longer than any other empire in history. But Islam has never, ever produced a free and open society in which all people are equal under the law. There’s a reason for that. The god of Islam does not smile on such values. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob does. That’s one of the many differences between Judaism and Christianity.

When America’s Founding Fathers wrote in Article VI, Paragraph 3, of the Constitution that there should be no religious test for any office, they weren’t even dreaming of the pseudo-debate we’re having today about whether a Muslim should be president. They were thinking specific Christian denominations, several of which held sway in several states. Specifically, they had just fought a war of independence from Great Britain where only members of the Church of England could hold office.

That’s not to suggest the Constitution says what it says and means what it means, but a little context is important. Original intent is important.

However, what I heard Dr. Carson say is that he wouldn’t vote for a Muslim candidate for president and wouldn’t recommend to the American people that they vote for one. I agree wholeheartedly.

Is that the only disqualifier? No. I wouldn’t vote for a Satanist either. I’m pretty sure Dr. Carson would agree. I wouldn’t vote for an avowed atheist. I’m pretty sure Dr. Carson would agree. I wouldn’t vote for a socialist. I’m pretty sure Dr. Carson would agree.

People’s most deeply held beliefs are important and affect the way they live, the decisions they make, the way they would govern if given a chance. It’s not inappropriate to consider those beliefs when making voting decisions. In fact, it is very appropriate. It is not bigotry. It’s not intolerance. It’s common sense. It’s clear thinking.

We need clear thinking in America today.

The establishment press, our major cultural institutions, even our political establishment don’t offer up much clear thinking these days. But I suspect that is exactly why Dr. Carson has surprised so many with his broad appeal as a presidential candidate – outperforming all of the major establishment Republicans in the race.

He doesn’t tell people what they want to hear. He doesn’t say things to please the press and the cultural establishment. He’s in the race to challenge the political establishment. He actually says what he believes. Long before Donald Trump threw his hat into the ring, Dr. Carson told me he was going to run by attacking the epidemic of political correctness that is turning too many Americans into mind-numbed robots, fearful of stepping out of line by expressing themselves freely and intelligently.

Arguably the three top candidates in the Republican race have all challenged political correctness and spoken truth to power, and it is working for them. And that’s why they represent such a threat not just to the political establishment, but the cultural establishment as well.

They should be encouraged, not discouraged. They should be rewarded, not punished. They should be thanked, not condemned.

My comments: Islam is an Evil Religion based on the Koran that Incites Violence against Everyone, including its own. Islam is Antithetical to America's Constitution and Founding Principles--It is against God and His Word. Any Muslim in Public Office is an INSANE idea.
