Published: 2 hours ago(ORLANDO SENTINEL) — A 45-year-old school worker in Polk County was arrested after she was accused of an attempted sex attack on an 11-year-old student, Lakeland police announced Wednesday.

Alecia Dotson, 45, is a “paraprofessional’ at Highlands Grove Elementary, meaning she was an aide for a teacher, a school district spokesman said.

The alleged victim was in the fifth grade at the Lakeland school.

The student’s mother found “disturbing text messages,” Lakeland police Sgt. Gary Gross said.
