Turns out that President Barack Obama isn’t the best at following the law. I’m sure this will come as a complete shock to every American, but the president has disobeyed a judge’s orders.

Four months ago, the administration issued approximately 2,000 three-year amnesties, in violation of a court order. Obama administration officials have freely admitted this is court, and were ordered to rescind those amnesty grants.

Judge Andrew S. Hanen, who blocked Obama’s executive amnesty program in Frebruary, has ordered that all amnesties must be rescinded by July 31, or he would take some action.

Hanen said, “If they’re not resolved by July 31, I’m going to have to figure out what action to take.”

While that’s not exactly specific, it is an indication that the judge is watching this closely.

The Department of Homeland Security said it has changed the duration of the permits from three years to two years, but getting the illegals to return the physical cards was a challenge.

Turns out law-breakers don’t like to give back ‘get out of jail free’ cards. How surprising.

If the United States government can’t even keep track of 2,000 illegals, what makes them think that they can handle a few million?

Josh Blackman, an assistant professor at the South Texas College of Law, said that this showed how problematic the program would become in the event Obama’s executive amnesty program were fully implemented.

“The entire nature of this case was that agents were given a free rein to approve as many applications as possible. DHS can’t keep track of its own agents and who’s being approved for deferrals and work authorization,” he said (H/T The Washington Times).

It’s refreshing to see someone keeping track of Obama’s law-breaking and threatening to take some sort of action if he doesn’t stop — even if he doesn’t know yet exactly what that action will be.

It’s a start.
