BETWEEN THE LINES
BEWARE OF TURKEY
Exclusive: Joseph Farah warns, 'Erdogan has his eye on Jerusalem'
Do you think the world doesn’t have enough to worry about?
Think again.
- ISIS is running roughshod across the Middle East – leaving a trail of carnage in its wake;
- The global economy seems to be teetering on a crash of Depression-era proportions;
- The tyrannical police state of North Korea claims to have the capability of miniaturizing nuclear weapons that would permit delivery by missile to anywhere in the world – including to its hated enemy, the United States of America;
- Russia dreams of reforming the Soviet Union;
I could go on and on. It’s bad out there. Instability is the rule of the day. Chaos reigns.
But one country is often overlooked amid the uncertainty and confusion – Turkey.
Something is going on in Turkey today that attracts few headlines, but it should.
Many forget that the Turkish Ottoman Empire ruled over the Middle East for 500 years until World War I. It remains a regional powerhouse, with a strong military and a leader who makes no secret of his desire to return to the glory days of a new caliphate and a revived Ottoman Empire.
This week, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told citizens in his country that Muslims need to stop fighting each other and assert dominance over Jerusalem.
Keep in mind that Turkey is a major supporter of ISIS.
This is an ominous development for the entire region. Turkey carried out one of the worst genocides against Christians in the 20th century. For many years, Turkey served as a stabilizing influence in the Middle East, even forming a low-key alliance with Israel at times. But those days are over.
If you want to understand this phenomenon and the spiritual warfare behind it, I strongly recommend seeing the documentary “End Times Eyewitness” by Joel Richardson and WND Films. Shot on location in the Middle East and Turkey, it presents a bone-chilling view of what’s going on in that part of the world and where it might lead.
Erdogan has his eye on Jerusalem.
There is perhaps no better way to rally the sharply divided Muslim world than to set its sights on a perceived common enemy – and there is no better distraction than Israel and Jerusalem.
Erdogan knows this. And that’s his game plan.
Does this sound like a scenario right out of the Bible – a power to the north of Israel that sweeps down and invades the Jewish state in an alliance with Israel’s neighbors?
Erdogan is also a vicious anti-Semite. He’s urging his people and all Muslims to “ask Allah to restore the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the infallibility of the Muslims.” He has claimed Israel is worse than Adolf Hitler, though if you watch “End Times Eyewitness,” you will see there are many similarities between Erdogan and Hitler’s style of manipulation of the masses.
Turkey has acted duplicitously in the past, often feigning moderation while arming terrorists in Gaza and providing safe haven and support for ISIS.
You never know how the next world war will start. But if I had to bet, I would say Turkey will be right in the middle of that conflagration. All the signs are there – even if most of the world pays little attention to them.
I can’t say it any more forthrightly.
It may not happen tomorrow or next week or next month, but the signs are all there. No other force on the face of the earth has more potential to unite the Muslim world in a toxic invasion of Israel than does Turkey.
Watch “End Times Eyewitness” and see the signs for yourself.
